Ah, The Good Life..Pizza and Beer(Root kind of course!)

The weekend has come and gone and I do not know how I feel about that yet. I was so excited for the weekend to come and was so excited to have some more time to sleep and do some of the things that I wanted to do, but it has seemed to go way too fast as it always does!

Overall, it was a pretty good weekend. Friday, I went to dinner and a movie with a friend. If you have not seen Dan in Real Life, make sure you come to my house and watch it after I have purchased the DVD in February! It is a good one. Saturday, I went into work for a while to get some of the files off of my last laptop and put them onto the current one. Very exciting! Then I picked up a different friend and we went to the movie 27 Dresses. If you have not seen that, it was a great movie as well. After the movie, I heard a girl saying that she didn't like it because it was too predictable. Seriously, aren't all romantic comedies predictable? Get a clue. That is why you like those kinds of movies. Things usually end up the way you want them to and they are feel good movies. I liked it a lot. I was very impressed by Katherine Heigl's performance. She really is as good as the media says she is! After that, we went to dinner. I have eaten out a lot lately and I love it. I have been pretty good about exercising so I am not feeling as guilty as I could about the eating out. We had my favorite pizza Nicoitalias(if you ever come to Provo or even live in Provo you will have to eat some of this fab pizza). We also had one of my favorite Rootbeers. So good, please enjoy the pic of it. Even though the picture is not as good as the rootbeer itself!

Today was my adoptive little brother's birthday, so I ventured up to Salt Lake after I went to church. They let me have dinner and cake so I was in heaven as I always am with free food. It is crazy to think little bro turned 17 today. I remember when he was three and so tiny and cute and fun. Not that he is not cute and fun today, just less tiny! (He towers over me at about 6' 2" now!) I love hanging out with the adopted family and getting caught up with them. I hadn't seen them since New Years. I love the fun conversations and especially when someone in the family says "Alice, are you losing weight again?" It always makes me feel good seeing I am still heavier than I was this time last year!

Well, it is much too late to be up and I must hit the shower and sleep. Gotta be up and good for school tomorrow, I can't wait! :)

Competent Supervision!

This week was the final week of volleyball in PE class. For the last day, I found this amazing huge beach ball. (I really wish I would have found it earlier, because my girls' PE class could actually keep the beach ball up!) It was so fun to see the kids get so excited about playing. They LOVED the huge ball. One student did not though. She was quite afraid because she thought the ball was much bigger than she was. It was pretty funny to see her run away from the ball the first few times it came her way. It was also pretty awesome to see her actually get up the guts to hit it really hard and she got it over the net. One of the proud moments in PE.

I still am not sure though if I am competent supervision. I hope I was but what happens if I wasn't?

This week seemed so very long even though it was short because of Monday's holiday. Why did that happen? I was so very impatient with kids at times. My leadership class is one of those classes that gets the brute of my fury. For some reason, they just don't want to do anything that they should be doing. I hate it. Today, I actually pulled the headphone out of the ear of a kid that was in that class. The funny thing is that he isn't even enrolled in that class; he was in there working on a project for my Health Class. I apologized and he was so very good about it. I wish they all could be like him! :)

This weekend will be full of much R&R. Sleeping in sounds so very good. It actually was the only thing that got me out of bed this morning. Oh besides that whole job thing, that is!

Be excited for the weekend! Yippee!

Things I Would Marry If They Were Men...

Just a list today. One of my friends loves to always ask me if I like things enough that I would marry them, if they were men. I have quite a few things in life that I love enough to want to marry them.

1. The Sharpie Markers pictured above. Out of all my presents this Christmas, this was one of the tops. I was using the markers this past week and I kept saying: "Man, I love my Sharpies!"

2. My Diamondback mountain bike. I have had many silent conversations with my bike. I love to get up in the mountains of Utah and just ride. Man, I live in a beautiful place and have a great bike!

3. My new comforter. It is so very big and warm. I love sleeping with it!

4. DVR. Man, I am so lucky to be able to tape all the TV I want to see and then watch it when I want to and be able to zip right through commercials.

5. The TV show The Office. I cannot get enough of it. It is hilarious. Sometimes I am actually lying on the floor laughing my head off. I love John Krasinski; he is one of my imaginary boyfriends. I think my favorite episode is "Beach Games."

6, My Carport. I love that when it snows I do not have to brush off my car. So very wonderful. It makes the lack of good laundry facilities almost worth it.

7. My surround sound system. I bought a cheap one just before the holidays and it rocks. I love to watch movies with it it blasting!

8. My Nike beanie hat with the brim. It is so very cute and fun. I wear it just about everyday!

9. Converse All-Stars. I have like ten pairs of them. I love to wear them. Too bad they are too slippery to wear in the winter on the snow.

10. Nintendo Wii. So very fun to play. I am lucky to have a friend who allows me to play it every once in a while.

Well, I think that is it for now. I hope that you all have things you would marry if it were the opposite sex. Unless you are married already, of course. That would be awkward. Maybe if I get married one day, I will have to not have lists like this anymore.

One funny moment of the day: One of my students thought it was hilarious whenever I said "risks." Say it over and over. It is kind of an awkward word and very fun to say. One of my new favorite words.

Peace!

Happy News in the middle of the Dark, Cold Winter!

I got the above letter in the mail today and seriously, when I opened it, I started to cry. A small part of my many dollars in student loans is officially paid in full. A total of $4,400 has been paid back because I am a teacher. Awesome. I love it. It is some good news in a winter that feels will never end.

I think the February blues are starting in January and that is not a good thing. It snowed yesterday, it snowed today, and I think it just might snow tomorrow. Can I say I am done with snow and winter? I am. I hate shoveling off my steps, and I totally despise jackets. I want my shorts and t-shirt days back! I want to be walking around town in my flip flops not my clunky boots. HATE, HATE, HATE!

If I were to be living anywhere else right now, today, here are some of the places I would like:

1. Australia. I saw some professional tennis that is going on there now and I realized that it is summer there right now.

2. Hawaii

3. San Diego

4. Any tropical island

5. My futon under blankets with the heat pumping. Oh wait, that is where I am right now! :)

Normal Blood Pressure, Already?

Yesterday, as stated before, was a day of shopping. I got myself a new Blood Pressure monitor. I thought it was broken because when I took my blood pressure last night, it was in the normal range. I am never in the normal range; my blood pressure is always high. My friend always has low blood pressure, so she tried and and we found out that my new gage is actually accurate. After being on the drug for my HBP for only two days, it has already regulated my BP. Awesome huh? The most awesome part is that I really haven't had any side effects either. That is great news huh? Enjoy the picture of me and my new monitor with a normal reading! Thanks Sue for making me try something else before giving up!

The Packers lost in overtime today. That was hard on me. I was sad and still am sad. Oh well, I guess the Super Bowl will be like most Super Bowls for me-uninteresting! Even though the Giants beat the Packers, I will probably root for them in the Super Bowl. Nobody likes the Patriots, except for maybe weirdos!

Well, not much happening here. Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and having the day off. Not much planned just some laundry and maybe a movie!
