Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Boiled Eggs

I had some spectacular meatloaf last night and just thought I should share that thought with you. I love my crock-pot. It makes good food. I also like when I take the time to make a good dinner. I actually had real mashed potatoes last night. Very scrumcious.
The boiled eggs have to do with the fact that I actually got around to boiling some eggs on Sunday, as well. They are also one of my favorite foods. I am spoiled right now.
Can I just tell you how excited I am to have meatloaf and mashed potatoes for lunch tomorrow? SO EXCITED!
The weekend was fast and fun. I got to bowl on Saturday. I bowled a 168, which is not too bad for a bad bowler. I was quite amazed at the demonstration of bad bowling etiquette that was showcased at BYU campus. I have a hard time going out in public these days. I just have no patience for people and plainly, I don't like people. I like my friends and family but other people I do not like. They crowd me and make me sad and mad. It is not a good thing. Sorry to the people who are not my family or friends! I am very sad by people who go bowling without realizing that other people are also bowling at the same time. I also am made sad when people use my bowling ball when they didn't even pick it out and can see that I actually am using it. Dang people. Oh well, I guess I can't change people so I should quit complaining. This blog is now done then! :)

Blog Worthy Moments!

The funny thing about having a blog is that you actually start to walk around looking for things to put in the blog. Today, one such moment came during Health class. My students were writing a paragraph about a mental disorder they have heard of and one of my students looks at me and asks: "Alice, how do you spell ADHD?" She almost seemed confused, when I answered: "A-D-H-D." It was so very humorous to me. I even told her that she probably made the blog. Another funny from the same class was the other day when another student said to me: "Would you give me extra credit, if I found your blog?" I, of course, answered: "If you found my blog, I would fail you!" This is a sacred place for me.
I had a fun time with my friend's three-year old again tonight. We took her to our schools' basketball game and she was dressed as a Lion. We then went to their house for some pizza and playing of the Wii. The highlight of the night was the three-year old taking a wand and turning us into various things from the room. For example, we had to be a chair, or a shoe. It was hilarious to see the three of us, who happen to be all over 25, making silly poses. It was hilarious. Sometimes I wish that I could tape record my whole life. Okay, I would edit out the boring and embarrasing stuff, but a lot of my life is very entertaining.
I also dyed my hair again. You can see the pics again. I didn't get the right color so it is a little dark. But hey, it is temporary adn in about six weeks it will be a different color.
Happy Weekend!

I am not a Racist!
So, a little bit of ranting from Alice today. I am just a little tired of being accused of being a racist by my students. I call them on their use of bad language: "It's because I'm brown, isn't it?" I make a call in PE: "You're a racist!" I see them in the halls when they should be in class: "It's because I'm Mexican."
By the way, the last one there makes me laugh. Mexican is a race; it is a nationality. They often get racism confused with sexism too: "You're racist against me because I am a boy." Sometimes their lack of education is very entertaining; sometimes it makes my blood boil. I wish that they could see how using their race as a crutch all the time will only make people think less of them anyway. In fact, sometimes I feel like I am becoming a racist just because I HATE being called one. But, rest assured, I am not a racist. In fact, if it were up to me, I would totally marry a Pacific Islander. They are beautiful and I love their laid back attitude. I also really like the work ethic of most Latinos that I know. I love America because we are so diversified. It is a beautiful thing to see different colors and traditions among us as a people. Granted, among any race, there are going to be some people that ruin it for the good people among their race. For example, people like Hitler, Don Imus, and Jeffery Dahmer brought embarrassment to Caucasian people. There are also going to be people that make any negative stereotypes of their race continue causing other people to only be more racist.
I think that being racist, in this day, is pure stupidity. We have come such a long way as a society and that makes me proud. We all need to unite together and stop racism. How do we do that? Just get along and realize that nobody is perfect. If somebody does make a mistake, don't blame their race for the mistake, it is the individual's problem. And when somebody calls you on your imperfection, don't say that they are calling you on something because of your race. I seriously have never said: "You pulled me over because I am White." You just sound silly when you say things like that.
Well, enough ranting for today. It is still winter. It is supposed to be nicer this weekend, which makes me happy inside. Tonight is Parent-Teacher Conferences, which does not make me happy inside. It just makes for too long of a day! Luckily, I get some good free food and will also get to know a bit more about my students' lives. And, hey, tomorrow is Friday, YIPEE!!!! Enjoy your day and keep smiling; it actually can warm up the coldest of winter days!

Happy FAT Tuesday!
Today was a day of eating candy, drinking soda, and get a few last swear words out. Those are the three things that I am giving up for the next forty days. Peculiar, you say, because Mormons usually don't give up things for Lent. But this Mormon girl still honors her Catholic roots!
I made some fabulous pizza. Wish you could have been here to have some. I am very excited to have some pizza for lunch the next few days at school. It will be scrumptious.
I voted today. Funny thing happened in Provo today with the whole voting experience. Many people had to wait about two hours in order to vote. I had an hour and a half wait. For some weird reason, about 100 voting precincts were combined into 60. This caused for major long lines. The people I felt the worst for were a couple who had waited in line for the hour and a half only to find out they were at the wrong polling place. It was patience trying, that is for sure. But overall, it was worth it! I had to keep telling myself that in some countries women can still not vote and even in some places nobody gets to vote. I also had to keep looking behind myself in line and remind myself it could be worse!
I am now addicted to the video game, Dance Dance Revolution. Moo left her Playstation here for me to play with a few games including DDR. I have been using this game for my workouts the past two nights. It is quite entertaining. I am also being reminded of how I am very clumsy. Some of the songs are just too complicated for my feet. It is a good mix up for my workouts though. I always get bored with the same thing in the winter. Good times!
Well, I am up much to late again and should get myself to bed. Enjoy the pictures of me being clumsy. I was not trying to be anonymous; it is just hard to take a picture of yourself playing a video game. :)
