Funtabulous Day!

Today was a fun day. Reuben and I went for a walk and decided it was a bit ptoo hot to do much outside today. We just hung out at my parent's and played a few hands of UNO and then watched a movie while playing scrabble on the iPad. It was fun even if we weren't doing a lot of touristy stuff.

Tonight we were able to head down to Wausau for my team's softball game. I am very glad that I am able to play in at least two games this year. I sure do love those ladies who I have been playing with for years and it was so nice to spend time with them tonight. They truly are some of my favorite people on the planet and some of my best friends. Remind me to take lots of pictures of them while playing next Tuesday. Here are the pics of the day:

1. I made Reuben banana pancakes. We got to have some of the maple syrup from the Koehne family farm. It was delicious and brought back a flood of childhood memories of the farm and helping gather the sap and watching grandpa boil and prepare the syrup. I love how being in Wisconsin brings back so many great memories. It is fun to share all these memories with Reuben.

2. We saw these little Bambies on our walk this morning. They still had their spots and didn't seem to have a mom nearby. I hope she wasn't shot by a hunter just like in that heart wrenching film!

Great vacation day!

Bass Masters!

Reuben and I went to Perch Lake, one of my favorite spots on the planet, and did a little fishing after Reuben made Jambalaya for the whole family. (I think Reuben has won them over, btw!)

Here are some pics:

2. Favorite fishing hole!

3. The Ficklins: Bass Masters!

4. We left @ dark. Pretty place!

5. At lunch, Reuben had his first fried cheese curds.

The Corn Palace and Being in Wisconsin!!

We made it to Wisconsin. The trip today was about 13 hours of on the road behavior. It was nice to make it to my parents house just in time for a great steak dinner made by my dad. It is also nice to be done with driving for a while!

The only tourist stop we made today was The Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. This is one of my favorite tourist traps. They decorate the place with corn and change that decor every year. I was just there in August and it was different today! It just makes me happy.

Being home in Wisconsin also makes me happy. This should be a great few weeks.

The Second Honeymoon!

Well, we are on the road to Wisconsin. We are somewhere in South Dakota. I don't know why, but finding a hotel
along the way is always a chore. Tonight, we went to four different places before finding the place we are in.

We have been having a great time. We left Salt Lake Friday night, after hanging with the cute nephews, and got to Rawlings, WY and stayed there last night. We visited Mt. Rushmore and Wall Drug today. It is a blast to have so much time with Reuben. Seriously, I married well and have loved our first week of marriage.

Hopefully, we will get to Wisconsin tomorrow. Good times. Enjoy the in no particular order pics. I hate this Blogger app. Just sayin'. If you know of a good app that works with blogger, let me know!

Cheers!

The end of summer school!

Today marked the end of an era. Summer school is over. I have always had the belief that summer, to a teacher, is very sacred. This still is true, but I don't have as negative of view of summer school as I used to. I actually had a blast with my students and will miss having fun with them four days a week.

Today, we went to the batting cages and mini golfing, a Thursday tradition. We also had an end of summer school party during lunch with root beer floats and wii games. I had treated my students to 7 Eleven drinks before and may have ruined their desires for floats. Oh well, we had a good time.

Tonight, Reuben and I made some amazing egg sandwiches. We are a good team.

We also packed for our road trip to Wisconsin. This is going to be a blast. I can't wait to party it up with my family and friends. It will also be nice to have a vacation with my husband. He hasn't been to Mt. Rushmore or Wall Drug. His life is about to be changed forever. And he thought marrying me was amazing!

Cheers!
