I am tired. I really don't have much to say, so excuse the shortness. There are no creative juices.
The funniest thing that happened today was when one of my favorite students, during dodgeball, said: "Ouch, my head! Ouch my butt!" We teased her endlessly about whether she was just chaging the name of her head to butt or if she actually was a butt head! So very funny.
I felt like I accomplished a big feat today. I handed back like a bagillion assignemnts back to my Health kids. Good times. I am such a grading slacker.
Comment...comment a lot. Please. We here at softballalice.blogspot.com cannot continue without your ongoing support!

The Glass IS Half Full!
Hi guys. Welcome to the blog. Glad you decided to come in and have yourself a read. I am glad that I decided to come on in and have myself a write. Today was a very good day. I like good days. Some of my favorite things today were: 1. One of my students, T-Roy, who was failing up until today. He turned in three journals during class. This may not seem like a big deal, but you don't know T-Roy. He has absolutely no motivation and usually would rather get under your skin than do anything remotely like work. So, I was proud of him today. He also was having a hard time with one of the assignments today in class and I was already totally angry at the whole class because they were acting like I wasn't even there so I really didn't want to have to spoon feed him through the whole assignment. The cool thing was that I looked at one of my stellar students and said: "Hey, would you mind helping T-Roy with the assignment, he really could use it." She said "Yes!" and immediately invited T-Roy to move his desk next to hers. Wow, did that make my life easier because I know I would have been totally annoyed if I had to coach him. Way to go T-Roy! And way to go Stellar Student! 2. Tail Winds. Riding up into the canyon was fabulous today. Usually, it is fabulous but I had a buddy pushing me uphill. I like to call this friend, wind! I cut almost 7 minutes off my time thanks to the help. 3. Lacrosse- This sport is a wonderful sport. When my PE students play it, it is even more entertaining than ever. It reminds me of a bunch of kids playing a game of youth soccer. Wherever the ball is, a swarm of students are there trying to get it. So funny. I love to see them challenged by a sport that most of them have never played. It really makes me happy to see the over-confident students humbled by the experience. 4. Having what I need. Even though I only have 40 dollars until payday, it is so comforting to know that I have a house to live in, food to eat, and a car to drive. I am so very blessed in my life and each day is a new adventure. 4. Friends who love me for who I am. Man, I really can be a roller coaster to deal with. I do not know why I have been like this lately but I always have been a sensativepants. I really can be emotional at times and totally read the wrong things about people. One such friend was called selfish the other day. I felt horrible and apologized twice. The funniest thing about it is that what the friend was doing that made me think they were selfish is something they always do. But because my chemicals were out of whack, I totally was overly sensitive about it. It was very funny though, because this friend is awesome because of their ability to just not take things personally and not get offended. I like that most of my friends are just laid back and easy going. I like to think of myself as laid back...but about every 28 days, I am not! So, I apologize for my sensitivity and emotions of late. I hope all can forgive me!
I really wish I could tell you all the most hilarious story of the week, but I must save it until I am out of the radar. In other words, there must be time for the person who created all of the hilariousness to forget what my blog address is. If you are curious, please email me: softballrita@gmail.com I will be glad to tell you all about it. It makes me chuckle oh so much and really has gotten my spirits up. I find myself laughing aloud a lot and I really hope people don't see me and think I am completely crazy because I am just standing there chuckling.
Well, I think that is all I have today. Remember to count your blessings and realize how good you have it. No matter what your circumstances, there is always somebody who is worse off then you!

Is It Friday Yet?
I think if you were to ask some of my co-workers what my most used quote is they would definitely pick "Is it Friday, yet?" I like Fridays. Unfortunately, I live for them a little too much! But you can still enjoy my tag line right now while you read. And no, sweetheart, it is not Friday yet!
I just spotted my special friend from Saturday. I am going to avoid that part of the library, quite possibly for the rest of my life! He just headed towards where I was sitting on Saturday. I am assuming that is where he hangs and now I know! See NBC is right; it is all about the more you know!
Well, I think this post may be the most random post of them all. I really have so many things running around my brain, and yes it does hurt when things run around your brain.
One of my favorite quotes of the day came from my principal. You know the one who is always making me feel bad that I am single. Well, she said something along the lines that her life was so much easier and better when she was single. To which I thought, man she really is a walking contradiction a lot of the time. Funny. But it also did remind me that I really need to relish each moment that I have at any point in my life. Life truly is all about change and I will not always be the girl I am right now. I must love every moment(yes, even if I do not want to watch people kissing in the library and want this moment to pass...I will still cherish it!). I think being a single girl has its advantages and living alone has many too. First, I never have to worry about the toilet paper being the right way because I choose that it will go over the top and in the front. I also never have to worry that it will be empty on the roll and even if it sometimes is, I am the only person I can get mad at because of it. Second, I do not have to check in with anybody or ask permission to do anything. I pretty much can do anything I want at any time and there are no consequences. (okay, so I can't do anything illegal and have no consequences but you get my point!) Third, I only have to do my dishes and laundry, nobody Else's. Fourth, I choose the TV program at all times. Except maybe when Ice is visiting. So, my life is pretty spectacular.
Divorce is another thing that is on my mind right now. I know somebody who is in the beginning stages of a divorce. I totally feel bad for this person. To have your life totally uprooted so quickly just doesn't seem fair. I would not wish this on anybody. Except for maybe my exes but that is a whole other story.
Anyway, the more lighter part of all my thoughts on that discussion is how funny it seems that as soon as somebody who has been married is all the sudden single again it seems as if they can be on my team again. It is like, wow, now they can sit at my table at lunch again. That is so very weird to me. But funny all at the same time. It is just funny how a person will get married and then all of the sudden it is taboo for a single person to spend time with them. Weird. Anyway, enough about that...too depressing and weird.
Well, I think I have run out of random things to say. But I am sure by this time tomorrow, I will have plenty more to say. Until then, Cheers!

Saturday really is a Special Day!
Well, here I am at the library. It is a great place to hang out, although it is sometimes hard to remain invisible here. For some reason, a special patron decided to sit across from me and start telling me stories about falling from a window at a bar. Do I really look like a nice person, whom you should strike up conversations with? I didn't think so. It would seem really mean to just get up and unplug my computer and go somewhere else in the library, so I am going to do my best to ignore him and hopefully he will leave me alone and think I am invisible again. Maybe I should dedicate this blog to all of the librarians everywhere who have to deal with "interesting" people each and everyday of their working lives.
I think I can tie my mood to the weather these days. In my last post I mentioned that my manic stage had halted. Well, that was while it got warm and sunny again. Now, it is dreary and chilly and I am happy again. I really like it when it rains. It just brings excitement to my soul. Maybe I have been ruined by my upbringing in Wisconsin where it rains every other day during the summer. Who knows. But I am glad to be happy again. Maybe I should go to a psychologist. Maybe not!
Today is a good day. I slept until 10:30 which was very needed because I have been getting very little sleep the past week. After waking, I made myself a great egg breakfast flanked with turkey bacon, toast and limeade. Very wonderful. It was made even more wonderful because I ate in in front of the TV while watching football. What is happening to Notre Dame this year, by the way?
I also managed to get motivated enough to unpack two boxes. I am very much a slacker because I have lived in my new place for over a month now and hadn't, until today, gotten enough energy to touch any of the boxes sitting in my kitchen. So, that is an accomplishment!
Now, I am here in the library with the crazies. Wait, does that mean I am a crazy? I didn't think so. In a few short minutes, I will be heading home and enjoying the Wisconsin game. That is if it isn't blacked out in my area. That would be sad, but maybe good because I would then probably be motivated to unpack more boxes and/or grade some of the hundreds of papers I brought home that need to be graded!
Good times ahead.
Well, enjoy your weekend. I really think we should switch to the 5 day weekend and two day work week. I would be a happy camper for sure!
Word!

Kids are awesome...and Krazy!
When you think about sitting in the library, you might think of a very quiety and sterile place. Oh, this is not so on the first floor of the Provo City Library. It is a happening place. There are people looking for books, and surfing the internet. And then there are the fun little people that frequent the library. They are here to get some books, and maybe a movie or two...and aparently today they are here to make friends. There is one little girl about three years old who says "hi" to everybody who she sees. She also asked me if I was the mom of another little girl. Very curious and always trying to make connections these little people. Her little brother is in a stroller and he also greeted me and gave me an air "pound it."
I like kids. They like you even before they meet you. I wish more people would be like that. I wish I could be that kind of a person.
I think my manic stage has worn off today. For some reason, I am just not feeling it today. I am tired and all the sudden cranky and lonely. I feel like it is raining in my soul. Like nobody cares or something. Now, please realize friends that this is normal for me and it isn't like I actually ever buy into these feelings. I just think something is different today...and I don't like it.
But, my mom called me today and that always makes life better, doesn't it? I also got my laundry done and got to go eat pizza for lunch. All good things.
Well, before this is too depressing I will close. Leave a comment or something. That may brighten my days.
