Two Words: Fudge Donuts

IF you ever make it to Dundee, Scotland, you must find Fisher & Donaldson Bakery and have a Fudge Donut. Enough said.

I think there will be a lot of blogging to come after I get home in a week. London was everything I ever imagined and more. It was a big life moment to actually be there. Being in Scotland is a major bonus and day one was awesome already. MBCB is an amazing tour guide and so is her husband. I was able to see a cool museum and lots of cool shops/buildings, went to a castle, ate Indian food along the river across from a lighthouse boat, saw the beach along the Tay River and could see The North Sea in the distance, ate a yummy fudge donut(have I mentioned the yummy factor, even without there actually being any fudge/chocolate involved in the donut itself), did some Scottish dancing, and went to The Law, which is a great lookout point on top of an old volcano. All in all a pretty fantastic day. Don't worry. I am writing everything down and you will get play by plays in the next few weeks. I will have to figure out how to organize. Perhaps it will just have to be the 14 days of vacation and each day will be an ode to my vacation of the past!

Well, off to bed. It is much to late to be up. I had to get some laundry done though. I am getting sick of my clothes! Silly!

I Like the Brittish

It is the morning of day two in England and I am enjoying my trip a lot. I am realizing that the time here is going very fast! I must enjoy every moment.

The driving on the left side of the road will never seem normal. I am very glad that each intersection actually has paint on the ground telling you which way to look for traffic; it is very helpful for this Yankee.

Yesterday, I saw the change of the guard at Buckingham Palace. It is quite the experience. It is hard to imagine that this ceremony happens each day! I keep having to pinch myself to make sure I am really here. Being here has been a life dream and it is hard to believe that I am actually here!

I also got to walk along the Thames River and saw Big Ben up close. It was a great moment! On the way back to the hotel, I was able to ride the tube for the first time and enjoyed the announcement to "mind the gap!"

It is amazing to be here and even though the native speak English, it is very much a foreign place! The culture is fun and The English are very serious and they love their soccer. It is fun to be here during the World Cup! It will be fun to see how the place shuts down during the match today against the US.

Well, off to get ready for the day. It is nice to have Internet access at my hotel. I think it was worth the forty dollars! Cheers!

The weekend!

Have you missed me? I tried to post yesterday but blogger was down. Silly blogger.

Home is beautiful and good. I got to eat pasties with my dad on Friday. That picture is a pic of a greek pasty. It was fabulous! I felt Greek.

Saturday was a pretty low key day with a run in the middle of it. I am enjoying the nice weather and the scenery.

I went to church on Sunday. That is just what I do. It was nice to reconnect with some old friends. I also wore that cool dress that my mom had for me in the closet. I think I look great in it! I have to admit, skinny feels good!

I watched four episodes of Bones and I am loving it. I think when I get home from the UK I am going to have to do netflicks so I can actually finish the series. It will be fun.

I was pretty excited about the new iPhone as well. It will be released the day I get back from Europe. Guess who will buy one the day after she flies in? Yep, me. I am excited.

I think my life is pretty boring these days. I am actually thankful for it. I like it. Being a slug suits me. I don't have much else so that is the end. Enjoy the pics!

Ah Summertime!

I had a blast with Jenette at a Wisconsin Woodchucks game tonight in Wausau. I remember when those college boys were so old. Now they are babies. We also had dinner at Culver's. It was yummy. I am a fan.

Slept for ten hours last night. It was awesome! I needed it! Not much else. Good day!

Ah. A Week Later...

Here are some pics from graduation. I was so glad my students graduated. I was worried about a few of them and it touched my heart that one of them came up to hug me afterword and said: "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!" That is why I do my job.

It was crazy busy getting ready to check-out at work and then get my apartment ready for my friend to sublet it. I was a little scatterbrained by the end of the week. I flew out at 7 on Saturday and my brother-in-law picked me up in Milwaukee. I had a great layover in Phoenix because I was surprised by my friend, Erin, who called and told me that her and her husband wanted to take me to breakfast during my layover. It was nice to catch up with them!

I then stayed with my sister and her family on Saturday night. It was nice to have S'mores with her family out on her patio. Wisconsin is sure beautiful right now.

We met up with my parents in Green Bay on Saturday and it was fun to catch up with my family there. I love to see my grandma. She is cute. I also saw my cousin and her kids and a few aunts and uncles. It is good to be home, even if I was a little torn to leave.

Tonight I play softball for the first time with my fun team here. It will be a blast. Let's hope the rain holds out for us.
