An Interesting 12 hours

 Well. Reuben’s alright. Our sweet car is not:

It breaks my heart mainly because it was paid off. Ugh 😩 

Now, we wait for the appraisal and look for a car. We will have to decide how much we loved the bells and whistles and how much we want to go into debt for those bells. Sigh. 

The second in the series of unfortunate events is this:

In my frazzled moments as I processed the situation and started to go get to reuben, I ran into one of the cars in the parking lot at school. Well, there goes the deductible!

And the third moment was the next day when Reub went to drop off Z at school. He was pulling into the school and another parent wasn’t paying attention and ran right into the side of our truck. Luckily, the truck is a tank and there isn’t any damage. 

We may never drive again. 

The bestest news…

 I’m not sure if you’ve noticed or not, but we may or may not be obsessed with a certain rugby player around these parts. 

I follow Ilona Maher very closely. In fact, I am like 4 million Instagram followers who think Ilona is our bestie. 

Anyway, Ilona posted a few very intriguing things this past weekend. First, after taking second in Dancing with the Stars, she wrote: “Is it about time I get back to the pitch?” And then on her stories she showed herself getting on a plane for England. 

When I saw that story, I thought: “Why is she going to England? What is she doing there?” It just seemed like a weird time to go there. So, I googled it. 

And a couple British based news outlets had articles about Ilona maybe coming to play professional women’s rugby in order to prep for The World Cup which takes place in England this year. The articles also mentioned two possible teams, The Bristol Bears or Gloucester. Both teams are a good art of Premiership Womens’ Rugby(PWR).

I don’t know all of what it means to have to play in certain leagues to be able to play in The World Cup, but playing in England is the key. 

Ilona signed with the Bristol Bears on Monday. She will begin play in January. Die hard fans will download The Rugby Network to watch live there is a subscription required for live games but you can get a week free when you sign up. I’m sure replays can be caught later on the web. That first game on January 5th is at 8am MST.

 I caved at about 8pm December 1st. They could have decorated weeks earlier. I still think I won.

My Sport Kid.

 E has been to a few football games. Z has been jealous. A wonderful friend who heard me talking about Z’s desire to  go to a BYU Football game called me last minute to offer us tickets. It had been a full day and it was freezing, but I couldn’t say no to free tickets. 

The marching band is always by favorite, and a good football game is always a good time. A kid who makes it through the whole game even if I felt like my toes were frostbit, was priceless. 

E wanted to leave by half time, Z made it to the end. I think I know who will be my sports buddy!
