Good Day Sunshine

Spent the night on Friday at Reuben's Brother-In-Law's cabin.  It was nice to hang out with his BIL and Dad.  I am definitely marrying into a way cool family.  I also like the perk of having this cabin to enjoy!

This morning, Reuben and I went for a walk around the cabin neighborhood. It is so pretty up there.  We saw four mule deer.  Way cool.  Very nice day.

We stopped in Spanish Fork and took in a Roller Derby.  I really think I should be in a roller derby.  I just need to come up with a name!

We then went to Provo and had lunch.  It was Cinco De Mayo so we totally celebrated with Mexican food.  It was yummy.  I called it linner because I ate enough for both lunch and dinner.

Tonight, I went for a bike ride and fed the horses with Sharri again.  It was fun.  She is a one great lady and I feel lucky to both work with her and have her for a friend.  Reuben and I went shopping for our Sunday dinner and then got yogurt and attempted to watch a movie.  I fell asleep and Reuben was pretty tired so we decided to try later.

Today's list is The Top Five Reason's I get Up for Work:
1.  I get up because I really want to eat.  Sometimes I go to bed because I know I can get up and eat in the morning.
2.  Sleeping is for wusses.  Just kidding.  I have a responsibility to get myself to work.  I also like to eat and need money to eat.
3.  I LOVE my job.  I get to touch the future every single day!  It is awesome.
4.  I have amazing co-workers.  They make unbearable days bearable.  I not only have friends at work, but they are truly like my family.
5.  You never know what will happen at work.  The kids say funny things and sometimes can be crazy people.  Good thing I like crazy.

Here are some pics from the weekend so far:

The horses.  I still need some clever names for them.
John Wayne is a theme at the cabin.  My dad would love this1
I love me some roller derby.
The kids LOVED my hair on Friday.  I don't know why!

May the 4th Be with You!

Happy Friday. I am writing from my fiancé's family's cabin. It is gorgeous where we are. I want to have a cabin one day. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Today went fast. I tortured my PE kids with the mile run and then tortured my Health students with a test. What a wicked teacher on a Friday!

I am still not getting any outside ideas about lists I should do for this, the month of posts. Where are my peeps when I need them? Maybe nobody is reading. Hmmm.

The list of four will be about the four things I cannot live without. I will not count Reuben because he is not a thing and it is cheesily apparent that I need him!!! :)

#1. My iPhone. It is sad that I am so attached to this thing. I communicate with family and friends, surf the interwebs, email, facebook, play games, listen to music, watch videos, read and write blogs and a plethora of other activities on this phone. It is like my third arm. I shouldn't love it so much, but I do.

#2. My DVR. Okay, soon I will probably be giving this up in order to grow up and save money, but for now it is one of my favorite things. I never watch commercials and I really think that enhances my existence. I am in charge of my tv needs. And hello, Sportscenter during breakfast gets me going in the morning.

#3 My running shoes. They make my feet happy while I punish the rest of my body for eating too many cookies and frozen deliciously delightful yogurt. I need a new pair and really wish I would have acted on Eastbay's clearance sale. Sad face!

#4. My softball glove. It had brought much happiness into my life over the years. My mother bought it for me for my birthday in the past few years. It is almost broken in. I sure will miss playing on the team back home this summer!

Well, I hope you had a fabulous Friday. If you didn't, you know whose fault it was!

Cheers!

Today was a nice day.  The ride to work was nice.  How could it not have been nice seeing a hot air balloon was at the beginning of it and the sun was shining for most of the ride? The kids are getting squirrelly but that is normal for this time of the year!

Had dinner with my friend, Kerri.  She is nice and it was very fun to get caught up with her.  We ate burgers and then the awesome cookies that are in the photo below.  Yum.  Thanks Kerri!

Now I am enjoying the NBA Playoffs.  I am cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder.  I just like that team for some reason.  Of course, I am also cheering for the Boston Celtics(and I would be cheering for the Utah Jazz but they are stinky!) even though Larry Bird is ancient history!

Today marks the first year anniversary of my wonderful Uncle Tom's passing.  He sure was special.  I decided to make today's list all about him.  I will write three of the many things I learned from him!

I learned from Uncle Tom:

     1.  To love everybody and to let those you love know that you love them.  He gave excellent hugs and kisses!  I always felt special and cared for around him!
     2.  Love your country.  You are lucky to be an American and have so many blessings because you are a citizen.  Honor those that have served in the military and be willing to thank those that have served.
     3.  That humor is very important in life.  I still love his story about Wittenberg-Birnawood, WI.  Such a funny story.  His jokes made me laugh lots!

I miss my uncle, but I do know that I will see him again and what a party that reunion will be! :)

Delicious cookie.  Glad I had Kerri to share them with!

Rode the bike to school.  This was an accidental pic I took while getting the next pic!

Saw this cool balloon on the way to work this morning.

2nd Post of 31 Posts in May

Hi.  Here I am again.  The 2nd day in a row.

This month has started on quite a stressful note.  Yesterday, my mom called and left me a message.  I didn't think anything of it because it went like this: "Hi, Alice!  Checking in.  Call me back tonight."  To me that just meant mom was checking in and that I could wait a couple of hours to call her back.  Then I got home and my brother called.  Well, I knew something had to be up.  Erich told me that my dad was in the hospital and had a heart attack earlier in the day.  I finished with Erich and then called my mom.  My dad was doing well and was stable.  Today he was up and moving and will go home tomorrow.  I was up and down all day long.  Happenings like that make you realize how fragile life is.  Thank heavens he is doing better!  Whew.

Cool JROTC formation in the Gym.
 The hand off of command!
Picture in 7th Hour

Other than that not a whole lot went on today.  School was good and there is only 17 more school days left, but who is counting?  One of my students was made Battalion Commander of our JROTC program.  I am pretty darn proud of her.  As always, there was a drawing during 7th hour of Health.  I love that class.  They are good to me.

No one game me suggestions for my list today.  I am hoping that you guys will take a moment and give some suggestions for the lists.  Today's list will be my wish list:

1.  World Peace.  Just kidding(not that world peace isn't a good thing).  I really wish I would be more organized and wouldn't have to spend half of my life cleaning up messes that would have taken thirty seconds to originally clean up.

2.  I wish I that I could be lazy and eat whatever I want and not gain weight.

The end.

Comments people...I am dying here.

May. The month of 31 Blog Posts

I am a bad blogger, so this month I have dubbed the month of 31 posts. Join in, if you feel the spark.

I thought maybe I would write a list for each day. Today, I will write a list of the best thing about me:

The best thing about me is that I am awesome. My nickname is Awesome Alice. I am funny and entertaining. I try to be positive and find the good in every situation and person. I even have an Awesome Alice cape. (Thanks Morgan!)

Any lists you, the readers, would like me to write? Leave a comment. I would love to honor your curiosities.

Cheers. And happy May!!
