Blogging Slacker

Apparently my desire to be a regular blogger went on vacation for the weekend. I apologize for that. The weekend wasn't very exciting. I did a lot of hanging out in my apartment. I like my apartment.

Friday I played games with some friends.

Have I told you how awesome the movie The Secret Lives of Bees is? It is amazing and you totally should see it. Very artistically brilliant. Great storyline too! You should watch it. I watched it with friends last week.

What else? Not much here. Just cruising through each week getting excited for spring break which starts on the 15th. Yipee. I plan on just chillin' like a villain while in Vegas. My friend asked me the other day what I wanted to do in Vegas and that is how I answered. I am perfectly content with spending time in the pool, bowling(the hotel we plan to stay at has a bowling alley) and watching movies(the hotel also has a movie theatre).

Well, I am off to sleep so I can be cheery for another day tomorrow. Thrills. Is it summer yet?

Practically Friday.

Whew...it has been a long week. We only had kids at school four days this week but it has felt much longer. I am very excited to have a weekend. I think the burnout continues. :)

I had dinner last night with some real good friends. My friend Joanna is moving to Denmark at the end of the week. That is kinda sad to me but happy for her because she married a Danish man. I think I am going to have to find me some European man so I can move over there! Maybe the men in other countries are much less annoying and frustrating.

Well, I think that is it. Later.

BYE BYE CREDIT CARD DEBT

HI. I just got back from watching Macbeth at BYU. It was weird. They set it in Book of Mormon times and in South America. Weird. They also changed the names of the characters. Weird. BYU....sheesh.

I just wanted to announce that I am officially credit card debt free. That is a pretty big thing. It makes me happy inside. In a few months I will also be car debt free. Much more happiness.

There is the news for today.

Goodbye!

Yada Yada Shish Boom Bada.

Now that is an excited person on their way to work!

Yesterday was okay. I went to work and had meetings in the morning and then I got my grades finished and cleaned off one of my desks (I have three). It is exciting to be in term four. I woke up today and said to myself, "Summer cannot come soon enough." I think I have reached the March burnout that often happens. Tired. Tired. Tired.

That is okay in about three weeks I will be heading to Vegas for Spring Break. That will be good.

Last night I watched 24 with Janette and then watched Chuck. Real exciting, eh? I did also go shopping and got stuff to make a present for Janette's birthday. I am not going to tell you much about it because, even though it is a small chance she comes on here to read this, I would be sad if the surprise is ruined. It is going to be crafty I will tell you that, though!

Well, off to the excitement of my work life. That was sarcasm for all of you that couldn't hear it in my typing. Have a great day!

Steak, Eggs, Mini-Eggs, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.

For lack of exciting subjects to put on this post, I just put a list of the things I ate yesterday. I have always picked on my mom and older people about this because often times their conversations seem to be about what or where they ate. Funny. I had some great fried eggs for breakfast yesterday. I didn't eat lunch, or maybe I did but I can't remember. Then for dinner I grilled some steak for my librarian friend. It was sure good. Throughout the day, I had Cadbury Mini-Eggs as well and at about eight p.m. I decided to bake pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. They are fantastic. Thanks to Anne for giving me her wonderful recipe.

Have you ever noticed that recipe is a funny word? I just tried to type it with two Es at the end but that is wrong even though when you say the word it sounds correct to spell it with two Es. This could become a random post, if you haven't noticed already. I really don't have much to tell you. The weather is changing though. It is supposed to rain here the next few days. I think a few of my friends are worried that it is going to snow, but I have heard it is only supposed to rain. I am okay with rain. I like it. It reminds me of home. It also brings pretty flowers. My little crocuses have started to bloom. I guess it is truly spring. I love those flowers. They are kind of metaphoric, seeing they blossom where my dirty neighbors live. It is as if they spring up through the trash that surrounds them. I guess this can happen for people too, if they decided to change their situation. I think trashy behavior breeds trashy behavior and if people don't realize that the way they were raised is not quite normal they too will just be the same. But if they decided to rise above their circumstances, they can bloom through the trash. Nice huh?

I am almost to the point of being tired of Kelly Clarkson's new CD. I love this CD, by the way. If you want to have a good CD, buy it. I think I will review it on here one day. I listen to it all the time: in my car, on walks, while cooking, and while cleaning. It is good for all things! :)

Ok. I will quit the randomness. Have a great day. Bloom where you are planted.

Happy Friday!

Well, I have made it to another Friday. I like Fridays. Today is the end of the term. I was at school until after seven last night trying to get caught up. Go me! I figured if I got caught up, finalizing grades would go a bit faster on Monday!

We don't have kids on Monday either so that always makes it feel like a three-day weekend. Meetings aren't my favorite but at least I don't have to be prepared for teaching!

Not much else has been going on. The weather has been great. I have gotten out and played catch a few times. I look forward to some fun weekend walks as well!

Enjoy the Friday; I know I will!

I hope you like the pic too. Some of my co-workers put that together for my birthday. I always thought I would be a professional basketball player! :)

The First Slurpee of the Year!

I play tennis with a friend from work frequently. When we do play tennis, we always go to get Slurpees from Seven-Eleven after we play. Today was officially the first Slurpee of the season. That is a big deal. Playing tennis in shorts and a t-shirt in the sun just felt so good. I am enjoying the warm weather, even though I am being a realist and think it will probably get cold again.

Have you seen the Geico commercial with the stack of money that has eyeballs on top of it? Supposedly this is the money you would save by switching to Geico. Anyway, this got me thinking about how I have this pair of jeans in my closet that just keeps staring and vexing me. Basically, these are the pants I could wear if I would lose ten pounds. I really think that those jeans are just about as annoying as that stack of money! :)

Good, quick day. Tomorrow the NCAA Basketball starts. I am so excited. I love March Madness.

Happy Birthday Bro!

Today is my brother, Erich's birthday. He is quite amazing. I have always looked up to him and hope he knows how much I love him.

Sorry for not writing much the past week. I guess there hasn't been a whole lot going on.

I did have a good lunch with a good friend on Saturday. I then got to see Alisha, who lives in Logan. That girl sure makes me laugh. I think people think we are pretty crazy whenever we are together because we giggle and giggle and giggle.

Crazy that March is going so fast. Also crazy that the third term ends this Friday at school. Whoa, time is flying. I really need to get caught up on grades. Good thing I have laundry to do. I seem to get lots done while at the laundromat.

Well, I am off to school. It is supposed to be 65 degrees today. I am planning a bike ride in the canyon. Exciting!

Highlights

Sometimes there aren't really any big things that happen throughout the day. Sometimes there are just highlights. I had two such highlights today.

The first highlight was having a catch with my new baseball glove(Thanks MOM!) and another one of the teachers, Tom, from my school. We had a blast just playing catch and talking for about an hour. It is very comforting to know that there are good guys out there and it is also good to just have a chat with a good man sometimes. I also was very glad to be breaking in my new glove. I am pretty excited about it.

The second highlight was getting a call from my friend, Melanie, and then being able to go and visit with her. She is a good friend and helped give me a little perspective on something I have been a little pensive about lately. It is great to have good friends. What would we do if we had to just wander this world aimlessly alone? It was also nice to visit with Melanie's little 7-month old, Mable. Man those kids grow fast, don't they?

Well, other than the highlights, it was just the same old same ol'.

20-12

a.k.a. 32. I stopped counting my age at 20. I just add the years on that I am past 20. Like 20-12 equals 32. Get it?

Birthday life has been pretty fun. The chili-mac party was a success. Thanks to all of you who came. Thanks also to the wonderful people who have given me awesome presents. It has been a wonderful birthday. I truly have awesome friends and I am very thankful for each and every one of you!

My mom spoiled me on Saturday. She bought me a new ball glove, ball bag and hiking boots. She is so nice. I sure do like her and not just because she buys me stuff. I think she is a wonderful person who is so caring and easy to get along with. It is going to be hard to put her on a plane tomorrow and say goodbye for a few months. It has been such an awesome time with her. I feel so lucky to have had her to be part of my celebrating.

Tonight we went up to the Bills. It was a blast. They are really such nice people. I like to call Josh "poop" because he was being one by pretending to be sleeping while I tried to get him to come eat dinner. Silly teens. I also enjoyed the company and the food and really loved the singing of "Happy Birthday." The Bills way to sing is very exciting because everybody picks their own tune and key. Mixed together it probably bugs the heck out of all the dogs on the block. I love it. I hope you enjoy the video! :)

MOM IS HERE!!!

Today went fast. I think I was excited for my mom to get in town. I am so glad she is here. We had dinner with some friends and it was fun. It is going to be a blast to have her here. I am excited to have her come to work with me tomorrow. The kids are going to love it.

Not much else. Just watching The Office. I am going to get back to that so I can finish before bed.

The Cleaning is Over....for now!

Cleaning never really goes away does it? I guess that is why I hate it so much. In a few days, all the beautifulness will fade.

Not much new here. I worked today and then I came home and finished the cleaning. I also rode 12 miles on the stationary bike. I have been such a sloth lately. The weather has been gorgeous. Too bad a winter storm is supposed to come in this weekend. I am done with winter.

I am excited to have my mom here. It is truly going to be a birthday celebration for the next few days. I have not spent my birthday with my mom in a really long time. I am sure I will love it! See you soon Mom!

Two Days...

Today was one mad dash to get things done so I am more prepared to have mom here. I did laundry and went grocery shopping. Then I came home and cleaned my bedroom. I also decided to spider spray. I do not want my mom eaten by the silly spiders that think my house is their house. This is definitely not their house. Anyway, the new spray I used is horrid. It makes me cough and really just curse the spiders more, which is already a lot of cursing. I think I may be sleeping on the couch tonight, because the smell is still pretty strong in there. I should have gotten this done this past weekend but did I? No, because I am a major procrastinator. My favorite quote is: "Procrastinators Unite Tomorrow." Anyway, I will be glad when all the cleaning and preparing is done and I can just relax and enjoy my mother's company!

School has been good this week so far. I really like my students. I think I am back into a better place and attitude. For a while the wind was taken from under my wings!

Well, I don't have much else. Night.

Weekend of Movie Watching.

Happy March. Crazy that it is already March! By the way...I did not have gallstones. Back to not having a clue why I hurt sometimes. Whatev.

Friday, I took Janette to see Seven Pounds. I always take Janette to movies that she ends up hating because they make her cry. I really liked this movie. It was a good one. You had to use your brain to figure out what was happening. It also had Will Smith in it and I love him. I would suggest you see this movie.

Saturday, Janette and I went and saw He's Just Not That Into You. I liked the overall message of the movie because it taught me a lot. I think I am very similar to one of the characters because I always like guys who never actually like me back. In fact, the guys usually have no interest in me other than being a buddy. SIGH. Anyway it was good to learn that about myself and again be reminded of the fact that if a guy likes you he will make something happen. I spend way too much time on guys who do nothing because they feel nothing. SIGH again. The movie was a little steamy in parts and I thought that was a little much but welcome to 2009 and PG-13 movies, I guess.

Tonight, I watched Fever Pitch. I love that movie. This time of year it really makes me happy because it reminds me of the fact that baseball season is about to start. It also is a great romance movie. Perfect combo for this sports loving hopeless romantic.

Other than that, I haven't done too much this weekend. I did clean my front room and do a few dishes. I gotta get this place in order before my mom flies in on Thursday. I am way excited to have her here. I don't think I have been with her on my birthday in a lot of years. It will be fun.

Well, I best be getting to bed. Have a great night and an awesome Monday! (If having an awesome Monday is actually possible)
