Day before Halloween!

I was The Statue of Liberty today at school. It was fun to see the kids dress up and of course to have the teachers dress up. We had a good time as usual.

I have wanted to start a tradition on here called Flashback Friday. I stole this idea from somebody so, if you are offended by my stealing of your idea, I am sorry. Basically Flashback Friday is where you take an old picture and post it on here to reminisce about the old days. Seeing I dressed up as The Statue of Liberty, I find it highly appropriate to post a photo of me with Lady Liberty from my summer trip to NYC. What a blast that trip was. Thanks so much mom for making the trip possible. I really had so much fun there! Liberty Island was really one of the highlights of the trip. I never realized how big Lady Liberty is; she is huge! I also didn't know that only the statue part was given to the USA by France. We had to build the pedestal and the pedestal is atop an old fort. Cool stuff. I also didn't know that Lady Liberty is actually walking as if to show that freedom is progressive and moving forward. Cool!

Tonight, I am taking care of Aiden. He is a fun little guy. We went up to the Bills for dinner(everybody is in town for Halloween. Lots of nieces and nephews running around). I think Aiden loved playing with all the kids up there. I liked seeing Morgan and Sarah and their kids. I am a sucker for kids but dealing with Aiden made me think that I may not be a very good future mom. I sure would need some practice with the whole keeping them on task and having consequences for not doing what I ask! Good thing one night doesn't damage children!

October is nice!

I like October. I like Fall. (even if it feels more like December, weather wise. It is chilly willy!)

Enjoy the pics of my Jack O' Lantern. I had a good time carving it with Christine and Aiden. Aiden is a way cute 7 year old. We are going to hang out together on Friday. It should be fun.

This week is going by quickly. I like that. It is already the second term at school. Crazy how time flies when you are busy and having fun.

Well, I must go get ready for work but thought I should get a post up, it had been a few days! Life hasn't been too exciting. Pretty much filled with pumpkin carving and laundry. The laundry isn't so thrilling. It is nice to have clean clothes though!

Well, have a great day!

Logan and Pumpkin Walk

I had a blast in Logan with my friend Alisha. We are hilarious when together. She is one of the few people in the world that I am very similar too.

It was fun to visit the temple, go searching for letterboxes, eat pizza at Factory Pizzeria, eat Aggie Ice Cream, go to Stake Conference, and go to The Pumpkin Walk. Good times.

Here are some of the funny quotes we had this weekend. I just think we are hilarious. Sorry if you don't find them as funny. We laughed and laughed.
1. Alice: "Maybe it is because I hang out with 25 year olds(referring to my 25 year old mentality)"
Alisha: "Yes it does! What does that mean?" (like I was insulting her maturity.)
2. Alice: "Oh no that bird almost got died." A bird had just flown in front of the car as I drove. My mind was very stressed by it obviously.
3. "...and she was a girl." Alisha said this about five times before starting a story about a friend of hers.
4. "I'm kinda proud of you." What Alisha heard when I said: "They are kinda rowdy."
5. Alice: "Staying would delay the envious." Lish: "No, the obvious." Actually, the inevitable. This discussion happened at about 11:30 last night when I said I didn't want to leave and Alisha suggested I stay.
6. Alisha: "Oh heavens." Alice hears: "All I want to do is sleep," and responds: "You should go to the Pumpkin Walk first."
7. Alisha: "We could go at five." (referring to Aggie Ice Cream). Alice: "But it won't be dark." (thinking Lish was talking about the Pumpkin Walk.)
8. Alice: "Street! Street!!!" Help Alisha drive because she almost drove right into the street without stopping.
9. Lish: "Sounds like a personal problem." Alice: "Yeah, you have a personal problem!" Lish: "Yeah, you are my personal problem!" Snap, roasted!
10. Alice: "What perfume are you wearing?" Lish: "Black Amethesis." She made up that name from Black Amethyst.
11. Alisha told me a story about suggesting her friend get some Stives for her dry skin. It is really called St. Ives.

I have never laughed so much. (well since the last time we had hung out, at least!) I even said that I had felt like I had just done 200 sit ups because of the way my stomach muscles hurt due to laughing. I am so lucky to have great friends and to be able to do fun things. Life really is good!

Negativity Be Gone!!!

Me enjoying Parent Teacher Conferences!

Hi. I feel much better than the last time I blogged when I went on and on about negative stuff. I really have been in a funk the last few days.

What is up with that?

Well, today was much better. I seemed to enjoy many moments of the day.

Here is a list of positives in my life today:

1. A co-worker gave me a sheet that will work perfectly with my Halloween costume.
2. I sold two things via the internet. 49 dollars ain't to bad for twenty minutes of work.
3. I got many hugs today. I like hugs. I think people need to be hugged more often but we are just too afraid to offer or recieve hugs. What is wrong with us?
4. A kid was very close to the automatic air freshener in Janette's classroom today when it sprayed. It was hilarious to see the look on her face when it sprayed. Priceless.
5. Having MBC in my house when I woke up and got ready for work. It is nice to have her around, even if it may be a short stay!
6. Eating Hobnobs from the UK. (Thanks MBC)
7. Testing is over.
8. Watching Sportscenter
9. Having Parent Teacher Conferences. It was nice to meet parents and to have some fun with co-workers. I work with great people.
10. Working with great people who care about me and take care of me.
11. The sun made for a very pretty day.
12. Chatting with my friend, who lives in Logan, via IM during PT confernces.
13. Watching Glee during PT conferences.
14. Eating leftovers for lunch from an awesome dinner with friends last night!
15. Watching The Office. I think tonight was one of my favorite episodes so far! Also, having Janette over to watch and eat ice cream and brownies with. (Thanks Melanie for the brownies!)
16. Staying up late and playing Guitar Hero
17. Knowing tomorrow is Friday and heading to Logan tomorrow.
18. Going to sleep in my bed.

Good night!

Letterboxing: My New Hobby.

Fort Utah.
Fort Utah stamp in my letterboxing notebook and my personal stamp.

Sometimes I think to myself: "I have a lot of free time." I usually fill this time with mind numbing TV watching or Guitar Hero playing. Sometimes this makes me feel like a slacker and a loser, so I decided I should do more with my creativity. (Remind me to tell you about my novel writing that is coming up next month)

A wonderful friend of mine, Elizabeth, took her kids on a letterboxing adventure a few weeks back and I decided that it was way cool and I was going to try it. Basically, letterboxing is similar to geo caching but different. You are given clues in order to find a box. Inside the box, is a notebook and a stamp. The whole idea is to find a box and then leave your stamp (which you create) in the notebook that is in the box. You also take the letterbox stamp and put it in your own little notebook to keep track of what boxes you have found. You can find out more about letter boxing at this site.

I found my first letter box today at Fort Utah. It was very fun. Enjoy the pictures from the adventure. I included a pic of my own stamp. I am very fond and proud of it. You should be too.

Must sleep. Parent teacher conferences tomorrow.....LONG.DAY.

I am adding to my negative list...

The University Inn located in Logan in my favorite place to stay when I go up for the pumpkin walk. There are no rooms for this friday! BOO. Super 8 here I come and I AM NOT happy about it!

Testing SUCKS!!!

This is the week of crankiness for various reasons:
1. I don't feel very well. (my stomach has been weird.)
2. I am constantly tired. I think it is because I don't feel well.
3. There is state testing at our school this week. I am an administrator of testing. This is pretty much the real reason it is the week of crankiness but I didn't want to put it at the top of the test because that may send a bad message to all of the people who read my blog who think state testing is wonderful.
4. The economy stinks.
5. Nobody has made me a pie in a while.
6. Kids who ask to go to the bathroom in the middle of a test and then everybody all of the sudden feels like they also need to go!
7. I have run out of reasons and am going to make up one: my dog died.

Positivity is contagious. So would you be positive already people? I have tried so hard to be positive these days but this week is really trying me. I think I need a vacation. Of course, I just had a vacation. So what do I do now?

I realized that I sound pathetic right now. I will quite complaining and tighten my bootstraps. Oh wait I do not have boots or bootstraps. I am screwed.

Tonight, I get to have dinner with two of my favorite people on the planet. There is a positive for you. I also get to go to Logan this weekend and hang out with another one of my favorite people on the planet. Take that negativity.

I need to add a countdown to the concert sidebar. That would make me happy. I will now go and do that. You go and be positive would you...and then breathe on me or send it out into the universe for me. I will catch it...I am positive!

Manila, Utah

Fall Break is over. Where does my life go? I went away with the Bills to see Sarah up in Manila. It was a blast. We did a whole lot of nothing followed by eating and talking. We watched a movie and then played the Wii. Josh and I also did some major 4-Wheelin'. It was a blast. The video is of Sarah's crazy cat. Josh and I thought he was hilarious. Maybe you will too!

Back to the grind tomorrow and I don't wanna. Sigh! Oh well. Before I know it, I will be heading to Vegas for the KC concert.

Fall Break

Sleeping in the past two days has been glorious. I woke up at 8 on Thursday but decided to sleep for another hour. Yeah, that was one long hour and I ended up not waking up until 11. Nice. I did feel a little guilty because I did have a lot of things that I wanted to do. Here is a list of those things(lists are my thing lately):
1. Find a letter box. See letterboxing.org. I have decided letterboxing is going to be one of my new hobbies.
2. Finish scrapbook for MBC, who came back from Europe today.
3. Put my name on the ballot for Provo City Mayor.
4. Frisbee golf.
5. Buy hand soap.
6. Grocery shop.
7. Spray for spiders(I have killed three in two days in my house; I hate spiders!)
8. Solve the world's problems.
9. Buy a capo for my guitar and also some picks.
10. Learn a Kelly Clarkson song on said guitar.
11. Get lost because of construction on I-15 on way to airport.
12. Celebrate payday with a Red Robin burger.
13. Meet the guy I am to marry.

You will have to guess which ones I did not get to.

Now,I am tired and must sleep. Off to Manila in the morning!

Tuesday....

These make me happy these days. I like slipper weather!

Pics from Vegas

I found this sign hilarious. It is at a gas station in Fillmore, Utah. They have some plastic sculpture animals that they apparently love! I think it is pretty much great advice!
Spencer loving his ice cream
Henry is only still when he eats and sleeps!
Oliver is so very cute, no? I had to put his collar up so he was kinda honoring Elvis. The kids lives in Vegas; give him a break!
This is an awesome pic. Spencer wouldn't let go of me for the first ten minutes of my visit on Saturday night. It was precious.

10/10/09

Viva the Vegas.

Chillin' like a villain in the city that never sleeps.

Here are some fun things I have done here so far(I love lists recently):

1. Got to see the nephews that I thought would be in bed before I arrived last night.
2. Got tons of hugs and kisses from said nephews.
3. Ate In-N-Out.
4. Ate brownies.
5. Played Wii bowling.
6. Played Guitar Hero.
7. Went to bed at 3am.
8. Woke up at 10am.
9. Went to many yard sales.
10. Ate Mimi's.
11. Went to pawn shop and bought ten movies and one playstation game.
12. Took at nap with a friend. And no that is not a sick thing. There was not any spooning. I am totally thinking I should have a couch that has room enough for three people to take a nap comfortably at the same time!
13. Discovered the TV show Bones thanks to the sole TV channel Alyssa gets on her TV.
14. Was greeted again by boys who love me and know how to say my name. (not many kids can say "Alice" easily.
15. Ate Raising Cane chicken.
16. Listened to lots of kids playing some of whom I do not know.
17. Blogged
18. And on to more adventures in Vegas.

Look for pictures to come tomorrow.

Wednesday....already?

I broke up a fight today in one of my PE Classes. Weird how boys will stop fighting if you scream real close to them, but girls not so much. Luckily, today was boys.

I am having a hard time going to bed because it is October and that means baseball playoffs. The Dodgers are on the TV right now. SIGH. I need to go to sleep.

The week is kinda whizzing by. I can't believe tomorrow is Thursday already. Weird.

I don't have much else to say. I haven't done a whole lot this week. Sometimes no news is good news, right?

The Weekend of Traveling Back and Forth to SLC

Good weekend. Got to spend lots of time up in Salt Lake with the Bills. I was supposed to go down to Southern Utah and spend some time with Alyssa and a million of her closest friends, but with the way I was feeling on Thursday, I had decided not to make that trip. Instead, I will head down to Vegas on Friday to spend some time with her.

I am feeling much better. Crazy how anti-biotics can make one feel better, when one has an infection.

It was Conference weekend. For those of you that are not Mormon(A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), Conference weekend is where the leaders of our church all get together and address us. There are two sessions on both Saturday and Sunday and we are able to hear from the president and prophet, Thomas S. Monson and the twelve apostles, as well as other leaders of the church. The talks that these amazing people deliver are inspiring and uplifting. If you are curious about what they have said at conference you can check out videos of the talks at lds.org. Also, if you are interested in learning more about my beliefs visit mormon.org

It was crazy and awesome hanging out with The Bills Family all weekend. We had girls night out on Saturday and enjoyed dinner and a movie.

There were lots of kids running around the house this weekend. I like them so much. I take lots of pictures of Oliver because he is still tiny and so dang cute.

Erin's birthday is coming up so we had a little party for her on Saturday night. It is tradition to have crazy singing for a Bills family member. The video demonstrates that.

Josh stayed at my house because he actually wanted to sleep and not be woken up by little children very early in the morning today. It was nice to have him, not only because I got to drive in the carpool lane on two trips to Salt Lake but because he is a pretty cool kid.

Well, off to bed. Way past my bedtime but I will survive hopefully!

Posting from bed...

...and it is glorious.

It has been a bit chilly here lately. It is kinda weird; it is like Fall just arrived on a particular day. I love Fall. It is my favorite for many reasons:
1. I sleep so much better in cooler temperatures.
2. Fall foliage makes my soul happy.
3. Football, duh!
4. Can you say World Series?
5. Hooded sweatshirts and coats make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
6. Slippers on my feet whenever I am home.
7. Going to Logan for the pumpkin walk.
8. Halloween and Halloween decor.
9. Thanksgiving. That is one heck of a meal.
10. Fall break

The only thing that bums me out about fall is that Winter follows.

So. I am pretty awake and have time to tell you the Gandolfo's story. It may not be hilarious to you at all but I kinda chuckle when I think about it. And I apologize in advance for this lengthy post.

So. We had half days on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, Kirsten and I decided to get Gandolfo's for lunch. We also took an order fo a co-worker, who wanted a "Damn Yankee" sandwhich. While looking on the menu I could not find said sandwhch, so I asked the person behind the counter if they still made that sandwich and this is the answer I got: "Yes we still make that sandwhich but we took it off the menu because some customers were offended by the name. They were also ordering the "Dang Yankee". "

I found this hilarious and found about twenty opportunites to say "Damn Yankee". Apparently, I am a heathen. Seriously people, damn is in the Bible. Silly conservative Utah!

I also thought that we better call Janette and see if she wanted anything or I may risk bodily harm if I re-entered the school with Gandolfo's and didn't bring her any. She did not answer but called back as Kirsten was driving us back to school. Of course, she wanted something so Kirsten had to do some amazing driving moves in order to get to the drive-thru, including dodging some of our students who were taking a short cut through the drive-thru. This mixture of cell phone talking and dodging students caused her to miss the ordering spot. I found this oddly funny which got me in trouble later. I opened the window and shouted at the students to get out of the way and told them that it is dangerous to drive while talking on a cell phone which is demonstrated by the missing of the ordering station by Kirsten. Funny, no? Kirsten also had to order awkwardly because when correcting the over shoot she backed up a little too far. I again found it hilarious and that got me in trouble as well. After finally getting through the drive-thru, we headed back to school with our food. I noticed some grade school aged kids walking and started to roll down the window to say something smart to them. Kirsten. Stopped me by locking the windows. I then proceeded to open my door. It was funny to me as I said : "like you really can stop me!". Funny, no?

The students who we harrassed in the drive- thru told both me and Kirsten that we were bad examples the next day at school. Her because she was driving and talking on the phone. Me because I didn't stop her. But in reality, I had offered to drive for Kirsten after we left Gandolfo's so she could eat her food but she wouldn't let me. The story would have been less hilarious and then she wouldn't have to try and place blame on me! Too bad.

End note: Kirsten makes life more of an adventure and I am glad we are buds!

Antibiotics=Nausea

My bum is sore again. Went to doc yesterday and he thinks it may be a little infected. Joy. Back on antibiotics and nausiated. I really look forward to being recovered. Let's hope that is soon. If you would, send some prayers up for me. Mom do not freak out. I am FINE!

Hope all is well. I had a great day. Ask me to tell you about a hilarious trip to Gandolfo's. It is a great story. Too tired to type it now. Maybe tomorrow.
