The Field...man it is good to be around that much green!

Yesterday went very fast. We had a potluck at work and that was very nice. Then I lifted weights and then a couple friends from work(Shule and Jane) and I headed up to Salt Lake for a Bees game. We picked up my brother from another mother and head to the park for the 6:35 game. It was way fun. I didn't get home until 11:30 and wasn't in bed until 12 and that was bad for me because I am now dragging. Must get more sleep tonight. I do kinda feel like "Is it Friday Yet?" but really am enjoying spring still and hanging with fun people so...."Live. Laugh. Love!"

Extra Trip to SLC

I had to run up to Salt Lake today to try and take care of a plane ticket I cancelled last summer. It is idiotic to have to drive an hour to use a 500 dollar credit just because it is a paper ticket. Lame. Anyway, the news is that it will not be cost effective to use the credit to fly home this summer so I will have to do that a different way. I guess the good news it that I can use it for another trip! Any suggestions on where I should go for Fall Break?

I also bought a new topper for me bed because my bed is uncomfortable and makes me hurt a lot of the time. I am excited to go to sleep. It is a new Serta four in memory foam topper. Those sheep better help me sleep good tonight. I am sure you will get an update tomorrow! Imagine that picture being a twin with blue sheets on it. I should have taken a picture of the transformation but I was just too excited for it to be all ready to sleep on!

Later.

One of a Few Reasons Why I'm is Still Single...

A cute boy sat by me at the beginning of Sunday School at church today, here is how the conversation went after Sunday School:

Cute Boy: "Hi, what is your name?"
Me: "I'm Alice."
Long awkward pause.....
Me: "What's your name?"
Cute Boy: "Aaron."
Me: "Nice to meet you Aaron." I put out my hand and we shook hands which is always a bit awkward.
Long awkward silence.......
Aaron: "How only you been in the ward?"
Me: "One year."
Long awkward pause.....
Aaron: "Do you like the ward?"
Me: "Yeah, there are a lot of nice people here."
More awkward pause while putting away chairs and then Aaron left without saying another word.

This is one of a few reasons why I am still single: I cannot keep a conversation alive!

Friendly Visit!

My friend, Elizabeth, came down from Boise for her sister's graduation from BYU and came to stay with me last night. Elizabeth is an awesome and funny person and I am so glad we are friends and that we have stayed in touch over the years! We met while we were both going to school at Ricks College up in Rexburg, Idaho. We had a blast back in those days and always played tricks on each other like me stealing one of each of her shoes and her retaliating by stealing all my underwear then me taking all her food. It was fantastic.

We had fun just visiting last night as well as getting a drink from Sonic. I feel so lucky that she let me have some of her time while she was here with her family. Awesome. The friends we stay in touch with are definitely the most special, that is for sure!

Fridays are spectacular so today should be pretty darn good. Dodgeball in PE is always fun and I will play softball tonight! Yipee! Hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the beginning of the weekend! :)

Good Day!

I am really enjoying the warm weather. I took another bike ride to the lake after school. So very relaxing and fun. I also decided to cook me up some fabulous chicken. I even got fancy and made mashed potatoes to go along with it. So yummy. I am ready to sleep. Haven't been good at getting to bed on time. SIGH!

Takers?

Anybody want to go to the Kelly Clarkson on Thursday, June 11th in Orem , Utah? Let me know in the next week; I have decided to stay a few extra days in Utah to go and now need company.

Spring!

Me by lake yesterday
Tulip outside of my house yesterday
Tulip outside my house today

Well, it is warm here this week and I love it. Yesterday, I rode my bike to the lake. It was fantastic. Today I went for a walk with a friend. So fun. I love the sun and how it feels on my skin!

The first two days of the week have flown by. There are only 24 school days left. I AM counting!

What else? I think that might be all I have. Not very eventful and that is totally okay. I hope all of you are doing fabulous!

4/20/09

Love it?

Seeing the poll was messed up, I have decided to have a rotating title based on how I am feeling. So all who voted thank you and congratulations, you all won! :) I am not focusing today at work. Only 26 days left of school but who is counting?

Pics from Vegas

I am tired. IT was hard to wake up this morning and then I thought it was Sunday. It is so confusing to come off of vacation. I better go get ready for work only about 30 days of school left. YIPEE....that doesn't make it any easier to go today, unfortunately. Have a happy Monday. Later.

I guess all good things come to an end.

Sunday morning: I sit on Morgan and Derek's couch contemplating life. Aimee and I decided at about three yesterday afternoon that we would get home real late and we might as well stay an extra night. Morgan and Derek were nice enough to let us crash at their place.

Man, it is way quiet for an apartment with two little boys and a baby.

Yesterday, Aimee and I went to the fountains at Belagio for the last time. I sure do love that fountain. I could stand there for hours watching.

We went to dinner at In-N-Out last night. I think my body will be glad to eat healthier at home. It has been yummy though.

We will probably head out after breakfast today. I am sad to see vacation finish. It will be hard to go to work tomorrow. SIGH.

4/17/09

Vegas

I have lots of pictures to show you but now way of loading them. I am at Morgan's house writing this. Vacation in tiring. I need a nap.

It has been fun to be here and the time sure is flying by. I hate it. I want vacation to last forever. Good thing summer is coming soon.

The first night here we just hung out with Morgan and her cute kids. Yesterday, we did a lot of shopping at the outlet malls and then had dinner with Alyssa and her daughter, Alexa. It was a blast. We also tried out the hotel's pool and it was FREEZING. I guess not as bad as Provo a few days ago(it snowed) but it was cold enough for me! Today we did a lot of shopping again. I am sick of shopping. Aimee likes to shop so we did a lot more of it.

My hotel is so awesome. I am jealous of myself for getting to stay there. I have bowled quite a lot. I haven't seen a movie yet. I should get on that. I bowled a 185 the other night. That was awesome.

Really, that is all I have done. Not too exciting but relaxing and fun.

Until later.

Mesquite, Nevada

It is hard to get the internet while in my hotel in Mesquite. Okay so it would be easy, if I believed in paying 10 dollars for the night. Nope, I believe in free internet for all! So, another hotel in the area has free internet. I am using it, but it is hard to get too. I have to be standing and holding the computer in the air(see pictures).

Good trip so far. Aimee and I left Provo at about 4:30. We first stopped in Washington, Utah to have some In-N-Out. It was yummy. Then we got to Mesquite about nine. We gained an hour too, which is fun! I am tired though. Is it possible to have jet lag without ever being on a jet?

We bowled two games here at our hotel. I did not know that there are so many hotels with bowling alleys. That is pretty awesome. 103, 113 for me. Aimee bowled 95 and then 116. Now we are going to watch a movie and sleep. Exciting.

We had Peep wars today at school during lunch. It was pretty funny. The pink one with only one toothpick is mine. I lost! You should have Peep wars. They are cheep right now!

Well, until later!

Hey.

I am putting up the poll for naming the blog. See it on the side?

Apparently, while I was playing around with my background(it will change when the name changes), I erased all my blog links. I put a few up today but will have to do more later today. Sorry if you have been linking to other blogs through me. My bad.

Have a great day. I will be in Mesquite tonight. FABULOUS! Later.

Manic Monday

It really hasn't been that manic but it is a good title, okay?

I liked that whole poll thing although I was not very patient in waiting the six days for voting to be closed. I actually figured that because nine people had voted and nine actually voted in favor of me changing the title of my blog, I figured that was good enough. I think the next poll will be for you to vote on what the new name of the blog will be. That will be fun. So look for that the next few days.

I took Janette to dinner tonight at Chili's for her birthday even though her actual birthday isn't until Wednesday. Her birthday is always during Spring Break and I usually go away and miss her birthday. I am not a very good friend. I also gave her the scrapbook which she really liked. I will post some pictures of her opening it later.

Today was a good day that went really, really fast. I like that but that makes me worried that the days off will even go faster and that makes me sad. Tomorrow night my friend, Aimee, and I will be heading down to Mesquite, Nevada for the night. Aimee has to work a full day tomorrow. I am actually done at 1:16. Good thing I will have a few hours because I still need to clean out my car and do some laundry and pack. I am way excited for this trip, if you haven't noticed.

Well, I must head home now (I am at Janette's, we just got done watching 24) and watch Chuck. I love Chuck. He is cute!

Later!

Finished Scrapbook

Poll

Another quick post today. I have added a poll to the side of my blog. Please take the survey. I am thinking of changing the title of this blog. Spider Pig might be getting a little old. Thanks, Alice

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter. I hope those of you who are believers of Christ are remembering his sacrifice for us and also remembering the truth that he really has risen. That is the glory of Easter Morn: to know that he has risen and still lives. What a peace this has brought to my life.

I also hope the Easter Bunny was good to you. I am still looking for my own Easter Basket but I think the bunny forgot my house. Hmmmm. Did you know what the best thing about Alzheimer's is? You can hide your own Easter basket. I tell that joke a lot but it is much more pertinent on Easter.

What else? Well, yesterday was a wonderful food day. Not that it was good for me food but it was way yummy. I went with a friend to lunch at a place called Sammy's. It is like an old diner and had awesome hamburgers and shakes. I could not decide which shake to have so the waiter suggested the blackberry cheesecake because it was life changing. I am here to tell you that it was life changing. I had such a better outlook on life after eating that shake. YUM. I wish I would have brought a camera to show you how awesome that place is but I forgot my phone. I also had some of my mother's awesome chili last night for dinner. It is the last of the leftovers from when she cooked for my birthday. IT is so good. Thanks mom again for it!

Last night I finished the scrapbook I am working on. I will have to take some pictures of it and post them. I am pretty proud of myself. It is better than I thought it was going to be. I hope my friend likes it. She better because it took a lot of time to make.

Well, not much planned for today. Just chillin' at home and going to church shortly. It is sunny outside which makes me happy. Good times!

Well, cheers and enjoy your Easter!

Converse Friday

Sometimes I wear Converse All-Stars on Fridays. I thought I would post this cool picture even though I am wearing Vans today. I am very bored in my 3rd Hour class. They are working diligently on their packets. Weird, they are usually so rambunctious on Fridays. My friend Kerri took those pictures long ago of some of my old All-Stars. I finally just got around to framing them. Slacker. Oh well.

That is it for now. Happy Friday.

Holy Cats....It's Friday!

Happy Friday to ya. Good Friday at that!

Off to work in a few minutes. Glad that I get the weekend off. I have been so tired lately. I really need to get myself to bed by 10:30 on school nights. Eleven just makes me real tired and crabby the next day. Poor students have to put up with me.

First softball game is tonight. I am pretty excited to be playing again. Gives me stuff to look forward to!

Well, I best be going. Battery on computer is dying too. Running late as usual. Hope your Friday is fab! Later.

4/9/09

Thursday

I don't have much time. I am at work and class starts in four minutes. It is almost Friday. Played badminton with kristi last night it was a blast. Other than that just grocery shopping. Just an ordinary day. Later.

Is it Friday Yet?

It has been a theme forever for me to walk around work and say: "Is it Friday yet?" Lately, I have meant it and have not been only being funny. Bummer. Someday it will be Spring Break! Morgan had her baby. I am way excited to meet Oliver when I go to Vegas next week. You should look at his cute pictures on her blog. There is a link on the right of my blog.

The picture is of a bat that I put in my friend's office during all our Office pranks way back in the day. We decided that the bat should be a fixture in her office so it is still in there and it gets a new outfit for each of the holidays. This time it is all about the Easter Bunny Bat. I love it. (She noticed today that I have not put pictures on the blog in a long time, so it is on in honor of her!)

Today, I worked on the scrapbook again. I am putting on the final touches and got to play with The Cricut. Man, that is one of the coolest tools ever! Now I have cool little letters to glue into the book. It is going to be a lot of work. I am hoping it is worth it.

I am up too late again and must get to bed. You are awesome for reading. Later.

Happy Opening Day!

Tonight was the mark of the beginning of baseball season. Some of you probably just said to yourself: "So what?" I like to ignore people like you. I watched a little bit of the Braves vs. the Phillies game tonight and I am so excited. I love baseball season. If you have every heard the song "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney, you will know what baseball season and spring does to me. I have often mentioned to people that I am two different people. During the school year, I am teacher Alice who is a nice person but she is so not as cool as summer Alice! I love the green of the field, the taste of the hot dog, the sound of the bat on the ball and the good lookin' boys who play the game. It sure does something to me. My first softball game is this next Friday. So. Excited!

What else? Well, this weekend was nice. I have been in my pajamas since last night. That is right, I never even got dressed today. It was Conference Weekend for my church, which basically means you get to watch church on TV. It was nice. I enjoyed it.

Last night, I went up to spend sometime with my other mother and my sister from another mother, Anne and Sarah. We went and saw Paul Blart: Mall Cop, which is hilarious and not even crude like I thought it might be. We then went to Red Robin. That made two nights of burgers, fries, and Coke. I actually broke Lent. I am just not a good Catholic. Oh wait, I am not Catholic. Anyway, I decided that this year's theme of Lent was that of breaking it. It was liberating. I have had a rough go at it lately and March was a horrible month(besides my birthday week, that was good). The liberation of breaking Lent actually felt great. That could be sacrilege but I am okay with it.

Well, I best be getting off to bed. (I kinda feel like I am talking a bit like a Southerner...Maybe watching the Country Music Awards tonight effected me.) Go Carrie Underwood. She is awesome. She won both Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. She rocks! Okay I am really out. Have a great night and enjoyable Monday. The only good things about Monday are 24 and Chuck. Funny how my life revolves around the TV.

Rain Makes Me Happy!

Looking around and seeing green grass makes me happy. Good thing something makes me happy, seeing that there is another winter storm heading our way and another for next weekend. SIGH. I do like how it is raining right now though. I love to listen to it hit the metal of my swamp cooler. IT is so relaxing to me. I think I am going to sleep well tonight.

I am glad it is Friday tomorrow. This week has felt really long. It has been a good week, it has just felt very long.

We had a staff against student basketball game today after school. It was fun to play. The first half made me worried that the kids were going to beat us badly, but in the second half we came back and won. Go us. Poor kids. We just can't be beat or we will hear about it for YEARS! It kinda, almost made me miss basketball season a bit, but not really. I am glad I am not as busy as I was during the season. We are still in the planning stage of a basketball banquet. Should be fun.

What else? Not much. I have been scrap booking a bit. Not much. Lately I have been tired and not motivated. I will have to work a lot this weekend!

Well, I think that is it for now.

I hope your life is peachy!

Happy Midweek!

Wow, my heels are really dragging these days. It must be that hard time before Spring Break. Why are they crazies around here and don't have break until mid-April? It is insanity. My friend, who is going to Vegas with me, called last night and we have made pretty solid plans for break. It is going to be very relaxing. No real plans to do much of the "tourist" stuff in Vegas. We are going to hang at the hotel a lot and maybe every once in a while go to the strip to see certain things...like the Belagio fountain!

I feel like there isn't a whole lot going on now. No excitement here. Just chillin'. So I will now go to work and you will patiently wait until there is excitement in my life. I think the recent winter weather has really been a downer for me. I just shut myself in and eat Cadbury Mini Eggs.
