Payday is a very special day.

...especially when you forget to check your bank account and overdraft. Thank heavens for the line of credit that bailed me out! Whew!

Here is the list of the day and then I must be off to sleep:
15 things in the room with me now:
1. My TV with Inside the NBA on in the background.
2. Laptop ready to quickly check Facebook before sleeping. (I really want to invest in Facebook. Any comments/thoughts about that?)
3. My running shoes. I did put them on in hopes of getting a run in earlier. It was more important to chat with my seester!
4. Huge exercise ball. I need to be better about my knee exercises.
5. My Guitar Hero guitars and drums.
6. Green Bay Packet lamp and gnome.
7. My blanket that my grandma made. I often am chilly.
8. My journal.
9. A glass of water.
10. A bazillion remotes.
11. Piles of papers to sort through. Still looking for the time to get to it.
12. My scriptures. I need to make more time for reading and meditation.
13. Movies galore.
14. Kisstixx. His and her Chapstick. They are pretty cool. All Reuben's idea!
15. Baseball Easter basket. I think it will be the money collector at my reception. P.S. We are not registering and really want cash. I guess that isn't proper etiquette to include in invitations so I am putting it out there here. Hope it's not offensive.

Have a great day. Cheers.

Some days!

Today was tough. I was tired and that isn't ever good. The kids are crazy and I don't know if we can survive two more weeks of their squirrelly ways.

Went for a bike ride with Sharri and then dinner and fishing with Reuben. It was a good stress relief. I think this while planning a wedding thing is nutzo! I should have eloped.

That is it for today.
14 things I want to do this summer:
1. Sleep in
2. Edit the novels.
3. Read a gazillion books.
4. Fish lots
5. Not see students.
6. Lose 6 pounds.
7. Get married.
8. Get organized.
9. Have a fun summer school session.
10. Hike lots.
11. Play with the nephews and take them on dates.
12. Index thousands of names from the censuses.
13. Watch lots of baseball.
14. Watch lots of movies.

Happy Mothers Day.

In celebrations of Mothers Day Here is a list of 13 things about Sue(my mother) that I love:

1.  She gave birth to me.  That is so not easy.  Just ask MBC!  I am so glad I got to be the "surprise" my parents never thought they would have.
2.  She has a big heart.  She is truly interested in all people and loves big.
3.  She loves talking to strangers.  She can literally have a conversation with anyone.  Every time we fly somewhere, she has a new friend on the flight for a few hours.  Amazing.
4.  She laughs so hard that she cries sometimes.
5.  She falls asleep in front of the TV lots.  I do this too these days.
6.  She puts up with my dad.  He can be a grumpy old man sometimes but she sticks with him!
7.  She makes up names for things.  Remember the movie Forrest Gump?  Yeah, she asked me if I wanted to see that "Grump" movie.
8.  She is amazingly smart about everything.  I always go to her for advice about finances and other stuff.
9.  She dances all. the. time.  She doesn't care who is watching or if she looks silly.  She just does it.  I need to be that confident.
10.  She is planning one heck of a party for my wedding reception in Wisconsin.  If you are around Wausau on July 7th...you should come! :)
11.  She loves to have fun and gets out a lot.  She even likes concerts.  We had a blast at Kelly Clarkson in New York City and at Jewel in Milwaukee.
12.  She is sensitive and cries sometimes.  I think it is a big brave thing to be able to do that.
13.  She loves me always.  No matter how silly or how far I move away, she still loves and cares about me.  She also makes the best chili and lasagna.  I guess that was really the 14th.

Here are some pics from today:
In American Fork Canyon.  Reuben took me up there after dinner with his family.

Us.  We need to have Reuben go to smile camp.  He needs to get used to my constant photo taking.  It is still cute thought, isn't it?

Reuben made this card for me today at church.  I joked with him about me being a "Future Mother of America."  It's kinda like being a Future Farmer of America but different.  FMA.

I saw the next three pics on the wall at the Ficklin house.  Isn't my future husband a stud?
And Pious.

This is the smile I am looking for!  LOVE IT!

Super Saturday

I broke out the Chucks today

Ezra making a mess

Me and the silly boys

O and Morgan painting

Spencer blowing bubbles

Three monkeys in a tree

Today was excellent.  I was able to get up to Salt Lake and visit the boys.  It seemed like it had been a month even though it was only two weeks. Henry said this when I arrived:  "Alice, you have not come to see us for 28 years!"  He then totally denied me when I said then Spencer is already 32.  Silly math! Henry also said "Happy Aunt Day," as I was leaving.  I guess he felt like Spencer and that it is weird that there isn't an "Everybody Day."  I guess that is why we have birthdays, so we can have one special day a year.

We did a whole lot of just playing. We blew bubbles, threw balls, went for a "bike ride" and taught each other things.  I really needed that.  Being around those boys always makes me have a burst of energy and is great free therapy.  I love it.

I wrote a list of 12 yesterday so I am only doing a list of 11 things today.

Eleven of Alice's favorite Athletes(current and former):
1.  Aaron Rodgers.  Football.  Quarterback. Green Bay Packers.  He used to be my pretend boyfriend.  Now that I am engaged, I don't need one anymore.
2.  Kevin Durant.  Basketball Player.  Oklahoma City Thunder.  He is just a all around good player and nice guy.  I am cheering the Oklahoma City Thunder to win it all this season.
3.  Donald Driver.  Football.  Wide Receiver.  Green Bay Packers.  Donald is a cool cat.  Not only can he dance(currently on Dancing with the Stars), but he has written children books.  His smile is amazing and you can tell he loves the game.
4.  Kirk Gibson.  Baseball.  Los Angeles Dodgers.  Kirk was amazing.  He played during the last glory days of the Dodgers.
5.  Orel Hershiser.  Baseball.  Los Angeles Dodgers.  Pitched great games when I was first a Dodger fan.
6.  Larry Bird.  Basketball. Boston Celtics.  I wanted to be like Larry when I was young.  I even had a homemade #33 jersey.  I would redo his plays in my driveway for hours everyday!
7.  Blake Griffin.  Basketball. La Clippers.  This guy is a beast.  He can dunk like no other.  I love watching highlights of this guy!
8.  Clay Matthews.  Football.  Linebacker Green Bay Packers.  Another beast.  This guy is huge and fast.  He is a sack specialist.  I love that he is on my team! :)
9.  Jackie Robinson.  Baseball.  Brooklyn Dodgers.  He gave hope to so many people and was a great player.  I love baseball history.
10.  Babe Ruth.  Baseball.  New York Yankees.  Anybody man enough to call his shot as a home run and then actually hit a home run deserves to be on this list.
11. Steffi Graf.  Tennis.  She was so fun to watch.  She was quick and strong and won a lot. She was my favorite tennis player and I always cheered for her.

Hope you had a great Saturday.
Cheers.

Thank Goodness for Friday!

This week was both long and short.  It was very emotionally draining.  I am so tired right now.  I am debating actually going to bed or sleeping on the couch for a little while.  I do like sleeping on the couch and I am feeling that married life will make that happen less and less.

Tonight was fun.  Reuben and I babysat for a friend from work.  His little boy is a cute, cute kid.  He is a busy boy who is very fun.  He only runs, so when we took him outside we needed to make sure we didn't lose him.  He also gets very excited just before bedtime.  Basically, I had to tackle him to get him ready for bed.  It was lots of fun.

School was okay.  Kickball was a highlight today.  Took me back to my childhood.  A make-up day was needed in Health class and many kids took advantage of it.

And there were free Einstein Bagels at work when I got to work this morning. Super deluxe surprise.

12 Professional Baseball Parks(both I have been to and want to get to!)

1. Dodger Stadium.  Los Angeles Dodgers(the first park I went to.  I was 12 and fell in love both with baseball and the Dodgers)
2.  Miller Park. Milwaukee Brewers. Home of my home state Brewers.
3.  Yankee Stadium.  New York Yankees. (The old one.  I don't think I even have a desire to visit the new one, mainly because I hate the Yankees)  It was pretty cool to sit in the same venue that Babe Ruth called his famous shot! :)
5. Coors Field.  Colorado Rockies.  Won a free trip with plane tickets, hotel, box seats, a visit to the Fox announcer box, and 100 dollars included.
6.  Angel Stadium.  Los Angeles Angels.  My friend, Marla, and I went on a Spring Break road trip.  So fun.
7.  AT&T Park. San Francisco Giants.  Spring Break last year with Jane.  It was chilly but so fun to have gone.  Great park and one of my favorite cities.
8.  U.S. Cellular Field.  Chicago White Sox.  Very new park with my Uncle Jim and Cousin Adam last summer.  It was a lot of fun.
9.  Wrigley Field.  Chicago Cubs.  I hate the Cubs, but I love this stadium.  It was like walking into baseball history last summer.  I still remember all the bricks and how they made me think of all the people who have walked over them since 1914.  Loved it and even cried when I first saw the field.  Pathetic, no? I love the history of the game!
10.  Fenway Park.  Boston Red Sox...it is my dream to get there.  I want to see the famous "Green Monster" so bad.  I also think Boston would be a way fun city to explore.
11.  Citi Field.  New York Mets.  Because of my hatred for the Yankees and love for the city of New York, I am totally a Mets fan.  I would love to hit this field.  Too bad the friend I went to the Yankee game with totally didn't want to go to see the Mets and made me go to Yankee Stadium.  Maybe when I am old and retired.
12.  Chase Field.  Arizona Diamondbacks.  They actually have a hot tub out in the seats in the outfield. That is crazy talk.  I'd want to see that!

Here is to a great weekend.

Cheers!
Reuben and Miles playing with rocks.

A rock stuck in-between trees.

I love this quote that I walk past everyday in a hallway at work!

I love babysitting this kid.  He is so dang funny!
