San Frantastic

We went into San Francisco today. I love this city. It's about an hour north of the beach house I am staying at in Aptos.

I could sit and watch the sea lions at Pier 39 for hours. That baby and its mama played hide and seek the whole time we we're watching. So cute!!!

I could also ride the cable cars for hours. They are one of the highlights of SF for me!

Coit Tower is the background.

The coolest little fortune cookie factory. I bought a whole bag and a bag of sesame seed cookies. Delicious. I am glad MBC and I found this place when we were in SF for my 30th birthday. Was that really four years ago, already?

I even paid a buck to take a picture in the factory. It is fascinating how they make fortune cookies. They start out as little disks and then the papers are put in before they are folded.

Ross Alley where the factory is located. Very cool little place!

I liked the cable car directions.

While we waited to board, I took this one.

We went to Ghirardelli Square and had an ice cream treat. I have been eating extravagantly.

Me at Golden Gate.

Beautiful sunset.

Jane and I at Golden Gate.

I also had a great set of ribs for dinner. It was my first time having ribs; delicious.

The restaurant was dimly lit for mood so the pic doesn't due the fabulous dinner justice!

Another great day!!!

Sunny Sunday.

I think all the days in California are sunny. Just sayin'

Today was nice. It started with a walk on the beach.

Cool birds having breakfast.

A washed up crab.

A nice view and a parachuter if you look close enough.

A jellyfish.

After the walk, we headed to the amazing bakery for breakfast. I am loving the food. See how good it is?

Beside eating, we took a trip to Santa Cruz. Did you know there is a lighthouse there? I didn't until today.

Near the lighthouse are some cool natural bridges. Very pretty scenery.

We listened to the Beach Boys while toolin' around town. It seemed appropriate after seeing this:

And this:

The lighthouse there is actually a surfing museum. That seems appropriate too!

The sunsets have been amazing here. Jane and I enjoyed it while we were gathering the wood for our fire.

The house behind the fire is the one we are staying in!

Janette and Denise missed the sunset by a few minutes but got there in time for a nice picture!

The day ended with the fire on the beach. Jane and I made an excellent fire.

The s'mores we ate with Peeps as the marshmallows were very tasty.

Very, very good day!!!

Sunny Saturday

I have been loving this trip so far. It is awesome to look out the window and see the beach. I also love hearing the waves day and night. This place rocks!!!

This was my breakfast today. Jane introduced us to this amazing bakery. It is dangerous, evil and very much delicious. We have been here two days and have eaten there twice.

Sometimes my self-portraits aren't the best. Fortunately, the scenery behind me is best!

These few pics are from my sunset run.

My footprint.

Path. It was way cool because I turned around and the waves had erased my path! Cool.

Friday is a good day for a road trip.

My view from the back seat. It was nice to nap lots. Jane and Denise did not sleep. They are rockstars. Jane wanted to drive straight through. It was a long drive but worth it.

These are the Salt Flats outside of Salt Lake. I have actually never been there.

Outside of Reno.

We got to the beach house in Aptos at about 5:30 sat. morning. This is the empty lot across from the beach house.

I love the ocean. I can hear the waves right now. It rocks.

Busy week=fewer posts!

Alice is Alive. She has just been busy. Yesterday, she worked and then went to Lehi to see her other dad have a starring role in Lehi High's play, Titanic. He missed the ship. We are thankful and he did a wonderful job!!!

Today, she had a root canal. It was nice. Okay, so it is a little painful but I did take half of the day off which allowed me to be able to wash my laundry and I even got the free drying deal because I was there before three. I never knew I would actually be excited about laundry!

Here are two pictures that made me very happy today. It is spring!(of course it is snowing now!)

The buds on the tulips outside my house.

The bush in front of my house looks like it's on fire. These bright flowers eventually turn into leaves. I love when it is so bright.

I also love that tomorrow after school, spring break starts. A couple of my friends and I will start our road trip to California. I am so excited.

I got this picture from hope week in my email. I thought it was cool.

Well. I better finish packing and get to bed. I hope life is treating you well. Cheers!
