Life Should Be A Beach All. The. Time!!!

Sand Pipers. One of my favorite living things at the beach. They are so funny...they run out with the waves and then run back in. Their little legs go so fast!
Nice beach scene
Janette and Jane on the beach
Sand Dollars prior to dying and leaving their skeletons behind
Cool tree that grew around a rock and then took the rock with it.This was my fortune for today. It totally came true!
Jane and I at the ballpark!
AT&T Park

We went for a fun walk on the beach and pretty much just had a chill kind of a day. I like vacation days where I can sleep in and then just do whatever I want to!

In the afternoon, Jane and I went to San Francisco one last time to partake of a San Francisco Giants game. It was a good game, even if my Dodgers didn't win!!!(I guess you have to root for the home team just like it says in "Take Me Out to the Ballgame.") I wish I would have not left to go to the bathroom during the fifth inning because that is when a lot of the action happened. Murphy's Law, right? It was still fun to go and be in another ballpark. After all, it is my goal to get to as many ballparks as I can in my lifetime. Good times!

Trolley Tuesday!!!

We headed to San Jose to see The Winchester House. It is a fascinating place that was built by a crazy lady, who thought she must confuse the spirits of those shot by Winchester rifles in order for them to not haunt her. The crazy lady was Sarah Winchester, the wife of the second heir to the Winchester gun fortune. Here are some pics of the house.

It is actually very pretty.

Door to nowhere.

Pretty gardens.

This place is huge!

Spider web windows.

You can read more about The Winchester Mansion HERE.

After the mansion we headed to San Francisco again so that Jane, Janette and Denise could go to Alcatraz. I have been twice in the past and even though I loved it, I thought I'd just stay behind and read and hang with the sea lions at Pier 39. I actually decided to explore the city and ride a cable car again. I was very glad I did. It was a blast.

Here are some pictures of my adventures:

I climbed this hill and many others.

Lombard Street

I want a red house.

Cable Car Museum.

Me "hanging out" and riding a cable car. Pure joy!

Golden Gate Bridge as seen from cable car.

Silly sign.

My cable car.

It was free cone day at Ben and Jerry's. I may have had two!

Bay Bridge on way out of town.

It was a very fun day.

San Frantastic

We went into San Francisco today. I love this city. It's about an hour north of the beach house I am staying at in Aptos.

I could sit and watch the sea lions at Pier 39 for hours. That baby and its mama played hide and seek the whole time we we're watching. So cute!!!

I could also ride the cable cars for hours. They are one of the highlights of SF for me!

Coit Tower is the background.

The coolest little fortune cookie factory. I bought a whole bag and a bag of sesame seed cookies. Delicious. I am glad MBC and I found this place when we were in SF for my 30th birthday. Was that really four years ago, already?

I even paid a buck to take a picture in the factory. It is fascinating how they make fortune cookies. They start out as little disks and then the papers are put in before they are folded.

Ross Alley where the factory is located. Very cool little place!

I liked the cable car directions.

While we waited to board, I took this one.

We went to Ghirardelli Square and had an ice cream treat. I have been eating extravagantly.

Me at Golden Gate.

Beautiful sunset.

Jane and I at Golden Gate.

I also had a great set of ribs for dinner. It was my first time having ribs; delicious.

The restaurant was dimly lit for mood so the pic doesn't due the fabulous dinner justice!

Another great day!!!

Sunny Sunday.

I think all the days in California are sunny. Just sayin'

Today was nice. It started with a walk on the beach.

Cool birds having breakfast.

A washed up crab.

A nice view and a parachuter if you look close enough.

A jellyfish.

After the walk, we headed to the amazing bakery for breakfast. I am loving the food. See how good it is?

Beside eating, we took a trip to Santa Cruz. Did you know there is a lighthouse there? I didn't until today.

Near the lighthouse are some cool natural bridges. Very pretty scenery.

We listened to the Beach Boys while toolin' around town. It seemed appropriate after seeing this:

And this:

The lighthouse there is actually a surfing museum. That seems appropriate too!

The sunsets have been amazing here. Jane and I enjoyed it while we were gathering the wood for our fire.

The house behind the fire is the one we are staying in!

Janette and Denise missed the sunset by a few minutes but got there in time for a nice picture!

The day ended with the fire on the beach. Jane and I made an excellent fire.

The s'mores we ate with Peeps as the marshmallows were very tasty.

Very, very good day!!!
