Some Day!

When I got to work this morning and went to my office, that is what I saw. Fun decorating was done by some co-workers. We sure do have a lot of fun playing these kinds of pranks on each other. I think it really helps make work a fun place. It was also nice of the culprits to actually help me clean up my office after school today. Awesome! I have to admit, I actually loved the things hanging from the ceiling and they are actually staying up there! (except for the stapler...that is dangerous!)

Have you ever thought, when something odd was happening in your life, that Ashton Kutcher would just jump out of somewhere to let you know that you were on Punk'd. Granted, I am not a celebrity, but today I totally thought I had been Punk'd. When I left Weight Watchers, I walked to where my car was and actually couldn't find it. My car had vanished. Luckily, my boss had come to the meeting tonight and I went right to her and told her that my car was gone. I was thinking the worst and that it was stolen. That would have sucked because my laptop, wallet, phone and iPod were all in the trunk. Luckily, my car was only towed. Apparently, you cannot park a far way away in the parking lot and walk to one of the businesses in the strip mall. Nope, you must park very close to the business. What the heck? Luckily, they did not make me pay the $150 towing fee because I had proof that I was actually a customer of the mall. It was silly and stupid and sure got my blood boiling and pumping. I do have to admit I did laugh a lot about it later but it really stunk in the middle of the fiasco.

What a Day!

Finish Photo!

I am glad I have this photo. I have a great look on my face. The man I wrote about below is to the right. He is an inspiration! I am glad my co-worker's wife took this pic. I love it!

It is nice to be 33. It is a good number. I must go get ready for work. It is hard to go back after an amazing day off of movie going and chilling. I think I may survive it though!

An inspiring Story.

This post isn't about me but of a man I met while running yesterday. I took part in my first 5k and it was a thrilling experience. Check out my weight loss blog to read all about it!

Anyway, while running I noticed that the man in front of me kept not picking up one of his feet. It made me worry that he was going to trip and in my head I kept thinking: "Man, pick up your feet, you are going to kill yourself."

While discussing it with my running partners, Shule and Janette, one of them said that they thought he must have something wrong with that leg. We kept running and every once in a while we would pass the man and his son. His son was a little guy and I am guessing he was about six or seven. At one point the boy was walking and we were passing him and we encouraged him to keep it up and catch up to his dad again. I think we scared him because we were strangers and he sprinted to keep up with his dad. Toward the end of the race, we passed the man again and he told us that his boy was kicking his butt and we told him that he was doing just fine. It was fun to do this little pass and be passed by this man and his young boy as we all ran and walked at different times.

I was pretty self consumed when I got close to the finish and I passed the man one last time as I sprinted to the finish. It wasn't until we were at the end of the race and waiting for our times to be passed out that I really learned why the man didn't pick up that left foot. I noticed that he was having a hard time standing strait and was leaning or veering to the left. I told him I would be a shoulder that he could lean on for balance and he then told me how he has MS and that his whole left side felt numb due to the running. It was then that I was hit by the awe of his race. I also wished that I would have let him pass the finish before me. He deserved that honor. How courageous it was that a man who had troubles walking would get out on that course and run with his young son. I wish I would have caught his name or got a picture with him, but all I will have to remember from this is his story. It truly will stay in my heart.

I don't think I will be able to complain easily about running hurting or make up excuses for not getting out and running in the future. I will always think of this man and how he was running even when he struggled to stay upright and was in pain. What an inspiration and I will never forget the man who ran with a limp from my first 5k. Where ever you are Superman, I hope you realize what an inspiration you truly are and may God bless you!!!

The Celebration has Begun!

I am a fan of birthdays not just lasting a day. I usually celebrate my birthday for a whole week. I usually start on my birthday and celebrate a week from then. This time around the birthday has kinda started already. I have bought two presents for myself already. I am very glad that the coats we got through work came in today because it was bloody cold today and very snowy. (Dang Spring is just not here yet!)

I bought the blender because I really want to start drinking more smoothies in my life. I also have a fabulous black bean brownie recipe that will be made easier because of my blender.

Pretty much: Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!

I would also take the gift of GPS, if any of your are looking for ideas. Haha. Oh and if you could find me a cute and tall guy that would be nice too! You are the best!

This week has gone very slowly. I am dragging. It must be March! Happy March, by the way. I hope this month is full of luck and shamrock shakes for you. I need to get me one of those one of these days!

I need to finish my sub plans by the end of the day tomorrow so I can not have to worry about them at all this weekend and I can have an amazing time celebrating on Monday!

The Office tonight was amazing if you were wondering. I laughed and laughed. That show still makes me so happy. LOVE IT. Do you want to see a list of the other shows that make me happy these days? I knew you would. Here is that list:
1. Chuck
2. Mercy
3. The Good Wife
4. 24
